Note - This is Hydralyte Sports, which is different to the standard Hydralyte powder or Hydralyte tablets

Currently on sale for $31.99 at Chemist Warehouse Normally I would have bought it from CW when on sale (buying a couple that hopefully lasts til the next sale) but for some reason this time I found the Orange tub included in Prime Day sales even cheaper! Unfortunately the Lemon & Lime tub doesn't seem to be on sale.

  • Great price. Just bought some lemon which is better not long ago for $32

  • 12g out of 15g of glucose peeps. But great if you're on a long run.

    • This is pretty rubbish.
If you are going for a long run and aiming to support a good performance, 12g of carbs in 600ml of water is way too low.

      • +1

This isn't a gatorade this is essentially electrolyte replacement. Completely different products.

        • And gatorade has the electrolytes you most need to replace during exercise.

And my comment was in response to another about it being great for a long run, which it isn't.

  • +2

I hate to see it but this doesn't look like a good sports drink and you can get better value and better sports drink by buying gatorade powder etc. tubs from your local Colesworth.

Also far cheaper again to make your own if you're into that sort of thing.

    • Almost everything is cheaper to make by yourself… This is a deal on a pre-made powder. Apples and oranges.

    • How to make your own?

  • What’s a good diy configuration of ingredients for
    long distance work outs?

    • How hard are you working? And for how long? Someone's long is someone else's short.

The main useful ingredients for sports drinks are sugar, (sucrose aka table sugar being easy and works very well for most people) and sodium (from table salt being easy and working well for most people). Add some random cordial for flavour if you need it.

That's it. Table sugar and table salt. The amount will depend on how long you work and how much you sweat.

But the majority of people just hitting the gym for about an hour a few times are week are fine with plain water.

      • Thanks.

Talking half marathon for practice and marathon for the challenge.

Starting to wonder about optimal hydration beyond water.
