Herman Miller Aeron Chair - Innerspace - $900.90 All Sizes Available

400

The ever popular Herman Miller Aeron is on sale at Inner Space (Brisbane), came across this while searching for some office reno ideas. The price is for all sizes and the order page shows that they are all in stock. Haven't seen them this cheap before, the last time I bought a couple was from Living Edge last year for $990, that deal is on again at the moment.

YMMV but its the best chair I've ever owned, 1 year on and it shows no sign of wear at all. Every chair in my business will be getting replaced with one of these as they reach their use-by date. I took a punt and ordered mine without testing but have never looked back.

Not sure if they do delivery as I'm not looking for any of these at the moment.

Edit - was $799 + GST has been adjusted to $819 + GST 21/01/13 (thanks Valik)

  • Been waiting for someone to post this (haven't had time to do so myself) - since i'm not in Brisbane at the moment, got my parents to get one for me and they got one for themselves as well. $878 each, what a deal.

They've got a store in the valley, but the chairs are stored in a warehouse in Rocklea (or around that area) - was able to pick up from the warehouse instead of the store since it's closer.

More discussion about this deal is at the bottom of this thread http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89534 including delivery costs.

  • Good chair, I have one of these and one of the Formway LIFE office chairs and love them both. Probably lean slightly towards the Life chair but if I was offered either one I would be happy. Purchased the LIFE chair for home use as well.

  • Shipping to Melbourne is $119.42

    • Strange, I went up to 1 step before confirming payment and shipping to Adelaide is 0.00?

  • I've never sat in it but I'd love to have one of these chairs one day, always have.
Just cant see myself spending so much on a chair although I waste money on other shit for some reason.

  • This is cheap. Although as always I state you should sit in one first - I prefer the Mirra to the Aeron

  • we have these here at work, get pretty beaten about and they are still sittable 18months later. Ours are the ones without the arms, but really you pretty much lose your arms after you roll through the bazillion settings of tension until your happy with the comfort for your chair!

Great chair (I own 2) - great price.

    You won't find cheaper - I've tried!

I bought one of these a few months ago for $1,200 and it was a bargain then.
If you sit in a chair at your computer all day or for long periods of time and can afford it, seriously get one of these.

The normal RRP of $1,200 is actually quite cheap when you consider the 12 year warranty. In my mind it's only a $100/year investment :)

Great chair, I think I paid that price for my second-hand one.

  • Does this come with the posturefit and adjsutable arm rests like the current deal for $990. Also im from SA so yeah i get $0.00 shipping aswell come up. Crazy price as im planning on buying one by the end of this month and was damn happy with the $990 price tag. Aslong as it has posture fit and adjustable arms aka the same as the $990 current special ill order now.

  • Great deal !

Ahh yep $146.21 for Adelaide. Still at $1025.11 its a bargain, normally around $1400 and they are allowed to do two sales are year by HM so stuff waiting around just buy it :D

Got the $990 Living Edge deal Price Matched here in Adelaide and picked one up.

  • With regards to the warranty, would you have to deal with the original store of purchase?
Also, any ideas what the Australian warranty covers?

  • which shop stocks these chairs? i would like to have a try first before committing $1k.

    • Yeah its a pretty specialized item found in very few stores. Inner Space and Living Edge are pretty much the only places to try them out. I had to pleasure at working at Microsoft in Adelaide so got to use them daily, now need one for my home office.

Very overrate and overpriced chair. Herman Miller have another new model out that's a lot more comfortable (the Sayl). I've used both and it's a no-brainer. Plus, this chair has been around for at least 10 years now.

10 years and yet people are still happy to pay $1000-$1400. I think good design and more importantly ergonomics can stand the test of time.

    • +3

The Sayl was designed to be a cheaper model as it uses less material by employing a clever design. The Sayl is a great chair, especially for the price, but I still found the Aeron worth the extra dollars. I also tried the Mirra but wasn't a fan of the plastic back.

i have bought 20+ of these chairs for work through innerspace. sitting on one right now. great service for a fantastic chair. worth every penny IMHO.

Just out of interest do they discount when buying 20+? I figure with how strict Herman Miller is that they would have near no wiggle room but i would be pleasantly surprized to be told otherwise. Im looking about buying 20-50 within the next 6 months.

If you dont mind saying what was the unit price when you bought 20+?

  • Tough luck, just got a mail from the rep saying that they are out of stock. New stock will only arrive next month …

  • I went in-store to try one of these when they were on special in Sydney last year, didn't rate it at all. Bought a $300 chair from one of the chains (OfficeMax maybe) instead and it does just as good a job, if not more comfortable.

    • Yeah - I wasn't very impressed with my trial chair either. Had it for about a week and found it very easy to pass up and keep looking.

Hi all - don't mean to hijack thread so i'll keep it brief. Looking to sell my size B Aeron, brand new, purchased from Living Edge Sydney, full 12 Year Warranty (invoice will be under your name), for $980.

If interested please see - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91608

    Thanks.

    • Why are you selling it so soon?

  • I went in to the innerspace store today to try the chairs out. Very impressed and they still have stock of size A and C but if like me you are a size B then you can get the chair at the special price but will have to wait 6 weeks for it to arrive.
