I have had one for about 6 months and whilst I do like it overall, be aware folks that some of the measurements are questionable in terms of accuracy. I really wanted it for the blood oxygen monitoring and my ring tells me overnight my blood oxygen dips into the 70s

For context, if it was in the 70's, I'd be dead. In fact, anything below 95 they suggest you get looked at. So yeah, I like it overall and its good for a number of things, but if you're someone who wants accurate measurements to rely on for health insights, maybe not your best option

You wouldn’t be dead if you dip into 70s for short periods of time. People with severe obstructive sleep apnea can have saturations in the 70s cyclically for short periods. So if you have obstructive sleep apnea symptoms I wouldn’t ignore the readings.

You are very misinformed if you think you'd be dead at 70% sp02. There's a good chance you have sleep apnoea and it's not uncommon to drop into the 70s. I've had medical monitoring on someone who was talking to me at 60%. Granted they were on oxygen and short of breath you're completely misinformed of what will kill you, even if momentary

    • You wouldn't be dead, but you would have extremely severe sleep apnoea.

On the other hand, it's probably more likely that it lost signal for a bit and it was guessing the reading, and these don't exactly have good correlation with medical services. Regardless, you probably should go see a doctor to work through it with you.

@winaxter @warzonevi @Ezuku I hear you guys and you learn something new everyday, so thanks for that. However, I do not have sleep apnea. I have been tested multiple times and as recently as May this year.

I do however have some health issues that make blood oxygen monitoring important, and often wear the fingertip oximeter (a very accurate one) when I have flare ups, and it shows my blood oxygen doesn't dip below 85-90 normally, even when sleeping. Galaxy Ring tells me I'm as low as 70 =.

So both things can be true I guess. It can drop lower than I indicated but also, the Ring is not super accurate IMO, which has been widely discussed in a lot of professional reviews as well as user feedback

          Cheers, appreciate the feedback.

DON'T do it. I have one. It now only lasts 1 night and sometimes 2. For its first 6 month it lasted 7 or 8 nights. Might lose only 4% battery during the day then use over 50% battery in 4 hours and stops sleep tracking.
Have contacted Samsung a couple of times and they say we are analysing the data logs. It's only 8 months old.
Think I'd rather use the perks code for an oura ring instead.

      Return it under warranty?

      • +1

I'm trying to, purchased it from Samsung direct.

    • My battery is definitely getting worse, but nowhere near 1 or 2 nights. I hope mine doesn't become like yours :(

    tell'em they are dreamin

  • The oura 4 ring is also 15% off here. I asked for a price match, but didn't provide evidence, and they took another $30 off, Very tempted to change to oura gen 4 brushed silver for $495.

  • this or pay 150 ish more for ns 2? hmm…

  • And I'm still on the hunt for a NFC payment ring, assuming it's some batshit legal reason we're not allowed them

    • Same it is absolutely dog shit reason that it's not allowed here

  • It's one thing for a company to release overpriced gimmicky products

But it's a totally different thing that there are people willing to buy such products…

    • cheaper than a diamond ring

    • Why is it gimmicky? People rely on their watches for a lot of health metrics and generally speaking, the finger gives more accurate measurements that the wrist.

Would be ironic if you're typing this whilst wearing a smart watch

In fact, I'm pretty happy with my $100 watch that shows time, tracks my health, shows notifications, answers calls, and needs to be charged once a week.

Meanwhile, you're happy to get some discount on a $700 ring that does none of that. lol

  • Does it give pp stats?

    • bit small to put on the PP, brother.. lol
