Indulge in the perfect treat for yourself, or as a gift for someone special. Now you can explore all six Golden Crunch flavours in this exclusive pack.

Known as Australia’s native superfood, our macadamias are grown in lush orchards throughout the Bundaberg region, not far from their ancestral rainforest home where they originated 60 million years ago.

After the gentle roasting process locks in their fine flavour, a special stainless steel key is included inside each resealable pack to easily crack open the pre-cut shells and reveal the flavour infused kernel inside.

This delicious line-up includes 12x 225g packs of in-shell macadamias, with two packs in each flavour:

2x Golden Crunch - Vanilla 225g

2x Golden Crunch - Dry Roasted 225g

2x Golden Crunch - Roasted Salted 225g

2x Golden Crunch - Australian Honey 225g

2x Golden Crunch - Coconut Pandan 225g

2x Golden Crunch - Cinnamon 225g

How much does the shell weigh?

Assuming the edible part (kernel) is 30% of the weight, this equates to $80 per kg

    65/(0.225 * 0.3 * 12)

….. assuming 40% (generous) edible weight, it's $60 per kg

    65/(0.225 * 0.4 * 12)

    Don't be fooled

Almost made a purchase before seeing your post, thanks mate!

    • I purchased this on Monday and got delivered today, didn't realize it was the nut with the shell but to late now.

I weight a pack it was 245g, the metal key is 7g, I then weighted a few nuts individually, open them up and ate the nut and re-weighed the empty shell. On average, each nut with the kernel is 9g, after eating the goods the shell weight is 6g. So 3g for the kernel on average.

The first pack I opened there were 32 nuts inside big and small nuts, I opened them all up, put the shells back in the bag and re-weighed it was 155g + 7g for the key, so 245g - 162 = 83g of macadamia meat per pack, x 12 = 996g for $64.90 - so roughly $65.16 per KG.

I guess on a plus it stops you shoving 10 nuts at a time in your mouth at once and makes you savor each nut, much like peeling a prawn and then enjoying the fruits of your labour.

Probably wouldn't buy again due to the effort, the flavoured ones are pretty good actually.

Flavoured macadamia nuts still in the shell? Sneaky sneaky.

Pricey - yes. But for this specific product? Quite a good deal. They're pretty popular with a certain demographic and usually a minimum of ~$6.50 a bag. Vanilla is the go-to flavour.

Given they can sell this pack at more than 50% off retail, I'd love to know their profit margin haha!

  • Was interested in some flavours, went to the website and most contain milk. WTF?
