This is straight-up nonsense. The 5950x crushes the M4 in multi core in basically every benchmark. More than twice the score in Cinebench R23. It's also 5 years older
Not that it's even relevant because these high core count processors are aimed at multi-core loads which arise almost exclusively in productivity software like simulation, CAD rendering and video production of which very few if any major packages are supported on CPUs with ARM instruction sets. Even if they are supported through emulation it will take a serious performance hit.
The marketing is strong with this one.
Super tempting at this price now. Won't getting any better for productivity on AM4.

This is clearly for people that are still on AM4 look to milk the last bit of this generation, sadly people can't get there hands on a 5800X3D for less then $400/$500 atm as it's EOL same with the 5700X3D.

Not even that. There is only a few CPUs that are more powerful than this in the consumer range. The ones that are more powerful require so much more power usage to go above it. 7950x requires over 100 wattage extra. So if people can find a good motherboard for it, then its a great pickup that can do more tasks and workloads than 99% of the current CPUs. Because of its still equal top core count and efficiency this CPU still is held in high regard. Plus building a system around it is so much cheaper
@Water Bearer: As a freelance 3D animator who just bought this CPU to upgrade my AM4 3700X mid tier rig from a few years ago… its so good to hear someone say that! Im anticipating faster rendering due to the higher cores and threads. As I understand it, this is the most powerful CPU for AM4 motherboards so its a killer upgrade for my situation.
Though of course I need a better cooler now too now. And a bigger case than my SG13 to house the cooler. And might as well double my RAM to 64GB too.
