[Switch, Switch 2] Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 - Switch 2 Version Free with Switch 1 digital copy $74.95 @ Nintendo

130

Mostly posting because there has been zero official word from anyone in the Activision / TH camp.

If you buy the game on Switch digitally, you will get an entitlement to download a copy on Switch 2 at no extra cost. This is the Switch 2 version and not just the Switch 1 version downloaded on Switch 2. They are two separate versions.

If you buy the Switch 2 version, you do not get the Switch 1 version, it only works forward, not backward.

This was believed to only be available on the Deluxe Edition of the game, but has since been shown to work on the standard as well. Unless you really want Doomguy, I'd say save the 30 bucks and go standard. I might have to email them about getting my extra 30 back lol.

I do believe this is ten words.

Edit: aha! I got them to refund me in the end. They were actually really cool and had it done within half an hour of my email.

  • Bro what the heck, is that the Doom Slayer?

These games used to have all sorts of cool crossover characters…funnily enough Doomguy (as he was known then) was in the OG Xbox version of Tony Hawk 3 way back when, so it's less bonkers than it may first appear

That being said, him being an Xbox exclusive in the day is honestly still kinda weird.

      • You used to unlock him in the PC port using the Doom cheat ‘IDKFA’.
        Good times.

  • wonder what happens if i buy this online on my PC when i have a Switch 1 & 2 Linked. Will both consoles be able to play through checking out the virtual game cartridge.

Switch 1 version for $39.95 with free upgrade would be a bargain. Switch 2 version for $104.95 with Switch 1 Deluxe version is not a bargain.

I think the point here is that if you have both a Switch 1 and a Switch 2 (or you have one and a mate has the other) you get both versions for the one price.

What’s not clear is whether an Online+ subscription is required a la the recent Zelda upgrades or whether it’s a perk as part of the deluxe edition.

I also don’t know how you share digital games across accounts but that’s a me problem I guess!

      • You just download it from your library onto each device and then any other account on that Switch can play it.

  • Come on Microsoft, include a game card in the switch 2 edition.

  • what is " DD edition"?

    • Digital Deluxe

  • @TheDukeOfNukem - do you also have a Online+ subscription? Wondering if that's the reason you're getting both versions?
