          What do you mean by "locked down"? Did you know that you can enable developer mode quite easily (click select button 7x on the remote) and then sideload 3rd party apps, such as Stremio. Even "low IQ" users can figure it out following simple online tutorials.

            @dibdob: brodie i already loaded stremio, its super locked down you cant flash any custom rom get rid of that stupud amazon home screen even with a custom launcher, all sorts of time wasting hacks and tweaks just to get an alternative homescreen but you need to manually launch it, cant run a lot of apps because the permissions are all lcoked down eg. bootup apps. Dont even get me started you dont even know how many chances ive goven this crapstick. Just admit thst vanvilla android tv plain old android is objectively the best cjoice rwther than this stupud amazon stuff. Weirdo UI and backwards ahh menus bro we just want android untouched by creepy amazon uncle

      i would rather shoot my foot off (in GTA) than use a firestick, save yourself from that locked down bloated weirdo amazon modded dumbstick and get a proper clean android tv based stick. I have a 4k max and nothing works well on it. bluetooth devices, IR remote options, casting, remote options, home menu options, voice typing - list goes on, all these features are COOKED.

        Sounds like you have a faulty Firestick. Amazon will replace it for free if you contact them, even if it's several years old. I had an Echo Show 8 I bought 3+ years ago which recently stopped working, so I contacted Amazon support and they replaced it free of charge with no hassle. They even provided a bar code I scanned at the local post office to return the faulty one at no cost to me.

          I had two firesticks came in a bundle tried both same issues stop blaming it anything but the crappy firestick you can google it these are all common known issues/ drawbacks of a crapstick

          its objectively better to have vanilla android tv. just drop it with the sponsoring talk bro no one wants locked down bloated amazon crapstick

          fyi forgot to mention doesnt even run at 4k its always 2k. None of my other tv sticks have had issues lol. just dont waste your breath on this weirdo amazon stuff its like they are from a different planet and try to port over their software to be compatible with humans i swear shh is so strange

    Got one free firestick 4k over a year(top cashback), it's great with Cloudstream, Kodi and smartube as well playing 4k Atmos movies from local drive(connected to the router)via wifi.
