I bought few over the years. Great gift. Aluminium body. Very nice finish that gets better looking with use (get the black version). Simple twist operation, 3 power levels, high level is powerful enough to light the path for several people in the dark.

They were $12 on deal years ago, but last few years were sitting at $18 sharp.

A must have on your house/car keys, the clip is high quality. Takes one AAA battery.

Seems expensive for a keychain flash light

Friends don't let friends buy olight

@Sillen: Technically just paid for postage.

Small round 'walking light' is great and long lasting via usb charge and great when you wake up and need a small clip on anywhere light.

others actually fit on a keyring in your pocket, more than most and more powerful.

            • @carrawa: Yeah, I'm just taking the piss. I have 2 obulbs but that's it for olights. I have plenty enough of other brands in different shapes and sizes from Sofirn SC01 to WildTrail WT90 (my precious).

    • It's too big for a keychain in my opinion. I'm now using a Nitecore Tiki on mine, which is about as big as I'd want to go. But I did just double check, and that's only about 3/4 the size of this, so… maybe it's not. Although The Nitecore is lighter too, which is another factor on a keychain.

However, it is a good quality light that has 3 (noticeably) different modes, no flashy modes and a reasonable tint. And is small. So yeah, it's worth it (IMO).

If you want to buy a flashlight that has a green or purple tint, or you want to go through a strobe mode while either cycling modes or turning it off, but pay less. You do you.

Having said that, I haven't really kept up with recent cheap AAA lights, so there could be decent offerings these days.

I find it borderline OK size for keychain. Obviously nothing else there except actual keys. Acts as keys handle :)

I checked Nitecore Tiki, it is nice, but made from plastic, not aluminium. And battery not replaceable.

        • +1

It's also only Micro USB rechargeable. Eww. ;)

But it fitted what I wanted at the time.

My EDC01 mostly lives on my desk to use when I need some extra light, so doesn't really fit with the EDC in the name ha.

      • I'm still rocking Nitecore tubes.

I thought ozbargainers just got the Olight freebie ($7.95 shipping) deals

      Olight: Single power mode

      • Depends on which one, USB rechargeable battery via usb c and turn for increased light.

  • This isn't a flashlight from Woolworths and good buying IMHO.
I bought three…one for me and a couple for Xmas gifts.

  • to exxy for aaa power

    • Agree. Lithium all the way.

      • There is plenty of lithium AAA batteries, with embedded DC/DC converter from 3.7V to 1.5V.

        • +1

In terms of EDC, my preference is a torch with a lithium battery that is rechargeable using USB C.

          • @dust: How would you replace it in a year-two, when capacity goes down to 60%?

            • +1

@nuker: Some lithium batteries that are rechargeable using USB C have a removable lithium battery.

              • @dust: none that I've seen in keychain lights. Example please?

                • @nuker: It's a fair point for what would be considered small enough to be a keychain light. The smallest one I know that fits these requirements is Manker E02III. It costs a fair bit more than this but is in my opinion, a fair bit better.

In what way Manker is better? Having USB-C charging port? The battery it is using is weird, and one review found the capacity at 308mAh, which is way below Energizer (non-rechargeable) Lithium AAA capacity of 1250 mAh, or simple Eneloop AAA at 800mAh.

Simple twist operation unlike the anduril 2 that includes up to 9 clicks and 1 hold.
