Tangerine nbn Service

Anyone here with Tangerine?

I've been with them for about 5 months before I closed the account and went on a holiday. I then got a call from them asking me if I agreed to sign up for another 6 months after I come back from overseas they will give me another 6 months of $65 a month on 100/40 connection.

I returned in June, called them and got my internet connected after a couple hours on the phone telling them that they already signed me up for a new 6 months contract.

Now July I've received an email saying that my overdue balance is $111.85. How the hell did I end up with a $111.85 from a $65 monthly contract?

Can anyone with a Tangerine service shed some light for me please? It freaking annoying to get this kind of problems with NBN providers in this country.

  • Just a guess but is $111.85 the price for the 1st month on a 25Mb plan + 1st month of a 50Mb plan?

  • I just double checked and I am very confused with their billing. This is for the first month.

    nbn100/20 Monthly Charge $5.21 $57.36
    nbn100/20 Monthly Charge $8.08 $88.90
NBN Plan Discount $1.17 CR $12.90 CR
NBN Plan Discount $1.82 CR $20.00 CR

GST plus the amount. How is it that much for only one month? I can see that they are showing discount but why am I being charged twice within a month?

    • +2

why am I being charged twice within a month?

You are charged in advance for the next month, so it will be pro-rata for the current billing period, plus the next one… Check the dates on the invoice.

      • Ahh yeah, I just realised they didn't direct debit my credit card when I signed up even though it previously direct debit previously.

    • I was with them but decided to move on , i didn't think their service was stellar anyway . I'm with southern phone and find their service pretty good , no hiccups yet (2 months) ,💯

      • Do they have anything on special? I'm thinking of switching back to Superloop after Tangerine contract.

        • If your talking southern phone , I got 12 months 100/20 for $65.00 a month

Another mind-blowing service by Telstra, nothing is ever just simple.
And why a contract, oh because that's how Telstra trap customers.
Time to move away, it's not hard.

    • Yeah, prices increases quiet often without notice. It's now $68 per month for me. I started with 60 per month for 6 months then went to $65 and now $68. I will definately change provider after the special period.

Might go with Southern Phone as per Murkymerv suggestion.
