[iOS] Mindful Coffee Pro Lifetime Subscription $0 (Was ~$29.99) via Organisational Code @ Apple App Store

520

Spotted a way to get a free lifetime Pro subscription for the iOS caffeine tracking app, Mindful Coffee. It's designed to help you track your coffee intake and see how it affects your sleep.

The Pro version unlocks HealthKit sync and other useful features.

To get the deal:

  1. Download Mindful Coffee from the App Store.
  2. Open the app and go to Settings (bottom right corner).
  3. Tap on "Link Organizational Subscription".
  4. Enter Company Name: GOOGLE
  5. Enter Activation Code: FEELINGLUCKY
  6. Tap "Activate".

Important: If you get an error after entering the code, fully close the app (i.e., swipe it away from the app switcher) and reopen it. It should activate successfully after that.

As this is an organisational code intended for employees, it could be pulled at any time. Get in while you can.

    Worked after restarting app
    Thanks ChBear

      Yeah worked after restart

    Worked after restart

  • Doesn’t work for me

Edit - worked after my 3rd attempt of closing the app

  • +1

Yep, worked for me. I proactively closed and reopened before trying to enter the code. Thanks OP! I’ve often wondered if caffeine adversely affects me.

    • You're welcome, glad it worked! Hope the app gives you some useful insights.

The developer posted a free deal for OzBargainers when they first released this app. Pretty sleazy to use an employee code to get it for free honestly, given it seems to be a one man band sort of setup and not a large development company.

Feels like it will be deactivated and the extra installs might even help his app performance

      • +4

Ah yes people stealing the software will definitely help the small business owner!

I love bargains and deals as much as the next but I think this deal post is pretty crass…

These organisation codes are typically disabled after a few days and the app goes back to the free version, the most recent one was Calm.

The additional downloads and interest in the app is better than nothing for the dev.

        • +1

Fair point, and I get the concern about supporting a small dev.

I see it a bit more positively though, like an extended trial, same as what happened with the Calm deal. For me, if it gets deactivated, I'll happily consider a regular subscription. I’ll definitely post a positive review on the App Store to support the developer regardless.

    • We know it’s you, Alexander Loth

      /s

    • Fair call. The best way to make sure the dev gets a positive out of this is to chuck them a 5-star review on the App Store if you like the app. Costs us nothing and helps them immensely.

Can't you just count the coffees you have in a day? How does having this app help?

    • +3

It's less about just counting and more about the timing and effect over time.

The app visualises the half-life of caffeine, so you can actually see how that 3 pm coffee is still affecting you when you're trying to get to sleep at 11 pm. It helps you connect the dots between your last drink and your sleep quality. It also syncs it all to Apple Health which is handy.

      • -3

Seems like a contradiction…if you need a caffeine boost at 3pm it suggests you are not getting enough rest in the first place, so maybe don't drink coffee at 3pm and get to bed earlier. Prevention always > cure.

I cannot believe anyone paid $30 for something that can't accurately measure or account for metabolising caffeine (hard to do without blood draw), which AFAIK is a more accurate indicator of the relative effect on the CNS.

if only there was a way to get the app and see for yourself

Just tried it, worked perfectly after force closing and reopening the app.

There is an app for everything these days, even for sex tracking lol

    https://apps.apple.com/au/app/sex-tracker-by-nice/id11072916…

    • It’s build in Apple’s Health app.

    • At this rate, it won't be long before they create a brain tracker: How many times during the day do you actually use your brain and demonstrate critical thinking?

  • +2

there is an alternative that is always free with many more substances supported which is https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/PsychonautWiki_Journal once downloaded and in-app, head over to settings then spam click on "version" to unlock ALL substances.

    cannot recommend enough.

    • On iOS app, clicking the closed eyeball logo beneath the version multiple times unlocked everything and the eye logo will change to opened. Clicking on the version didn’t do anything.

      • ah that's it! cheers i knew it was around that area

  • Seemed to work after a restart but thought it would say the company name under Link Organisation Subscription. Just says Pro version at the top and nothing about the organisation.

Anyway not sure who on earth would pay more than $5 for this app. I drink 2 to 3 coffees a day and don’t have any issues with sleep, so not for me anyway haha

    • I just use it as a quick way to log caffeine intake into Apple Health. I only just discovered after opening the app upon reading this deal that the dev secretly rugpulled my previous lifetime pro which I got during a promo, so there's a whole month of data that never synced to Apple Health. Not cool…

      • Ah okay, yeah that’s not cool at all although more common nowadays unfortunately.

  • +2

I previously got this when there was a free lifetime promo and I've just found out when I reopened the app it says I have the "Free Version" and all the premium features are now locked behind a subscription.

That's pretty dodgy, you can't promote your app to spur people to download your app, thereby making it rise in the App Store charts, and then yank that away when you feel like it.

Also, the app counts your sleep multiple times if you have multiple sources reporting sleep data in Apple Health. I reported this bug and the dev put it in the "too hard, low priority" basket despite other apps handling multiple sources for the same data without issue.
