    $59 for a heater that does the same job as a $15 one from Kmart is a joke.

    • @at9

      There's no comparison for $59 (promotional deal) to $15 heater when it comes to multiple heat settings, a remote control, timer function & overheat protection.

    • Looks like a Dyson, so justified to charge more.

      • Dysons are 'bladeless'.

        Shaped like a Dyson would be more accurate.

  • Not really a bargain as such, you can buy similar for less on Amazon if you have prime. For example -

    Cobuy Ceramic Indoor Heater 2000W$55.99 delivered.

    • -1

      With no Prime subscription, you're paying almost the same and its just a $2.99 difference.

      And to keep it fair, we’re happy to refund $2.99 on every purchase to match the Amazon price.

      So yes, it’s still a great deal, no membership needed. 🔥

        But yours is only 1200W. That one is 2000W. But both are absurd prices to be paying for a heater in my opinion.

        • Can’t blame guy for trying. Life was simpler in yesteryear - source cheap and cheerful from China, then sell locally at high margin. Now, have to compete with Kmart, doing same but on humongous scale.

          • @AlexF: Indeed it seems like it.

            Some simple digging tells me this is a "customised" EH-002 from Zhejiang Ihomey Houseware Co., Ltd., selling at US$19 at 10k quantities on Alibaba.

          @luigough

          Our Spector heater is more energy efficient comes with 80° wide-angle oscillation and quiet fan operation - ideal for night time usage.

          Spector support both cooling and heating with power usage is just 30W (cooling) / 1200W (heating) making it useful year-round.

            @Qubyk: It's a resistive heating element. It's as equally efficient as every other resistive heating element. It's a flat out lie to claim you are more "efficient".

            • +1

              @luigough: Lol Reps will say anything to get a sale. Wasn't going to neg for once but that lie tipped me over the edge.

            • @luigough: PTC Ceramic is more efficient than metal wire, his basis for comparison.

              • +1

                @AlexF: But by definition, a PTC ceramic element is a resistor and has practically identical efficiency. It's something heater salespeople like to confuse people about - resistive heating is resistive heating.

                This is to contrast much more efficient technologies like heat-pumps (aka reverse-cycle air conditioning) which, instead of generating heat, move heat around and thus can be ~4-5x more efficient than resistive heating.

                • -1

                  @luigough: @luigough

                  PTC ceramic heaters are indeed resistive. Not debating here and agree with your point that heat-pumps are far better than resistive heating.

                  Im representing the real world user efficiency here that is fast, safely, and effectively heat reaches and maintains comfort levels when needed.

                  Its ideal for renters, small rooms or quick personal heating and don't need to spend extra on prime membership / installation-removal.
