Double glanced it as Anko for a moment, thought Kmart was stepping up

:O Akko makes steamed-bun keycaps now - good luck charms and pigs'

    • Naive question - do all keycaps work on all mechanical keyboards? Or do you still need to get a compatible 'type'?

      • +2

        No, they're not universal.
If your mech keyboard uses Cherry MX switches or their clones (Kailh, Gateron) - those with the + stem, most keycap sets are intended for those.
Topre, Alphs have their own stem design which might not pair up with the + on cherry keycaps. A bunch of Logitech switches are also not MX caps compatible.

        • Should all keycaps have a description of the type they are? eg those good luck charms and pigs don't mention Cherry or anything (at least on their Centrecom listing) - just 'Mog' style, which I'm thinking is the roundness of the key rather than the attachment + style?

          • +2

@aragornelessar: Can be presumed to fit cherry MX switches since all Akko switches are MX clones.

Yes, MOG is the shape and height of the top surface

  • I think i got the last pair at Centrecom Auburn off the shelf. The checkout staff was surprise of the price as well. Thanks ops
