First post so hopefully I did it right. Picked one up myself, have the older 20 liter one from Ausclimate, run it everyday for 8 hours in a damp area in our house for the past few years. This is a new model so hoping it is just as reliable

  • Anyone know the power usage on this? Can't see it on the website.

    • Ausclimate page lists: Power Input 610W

      • +1

That's the input requirement, not the power usage. For example it might need 610W for 1-second during start-up and then run at 400W continuously. My duhumidifer for example has an input requirement of 300W but the measured draw is 230W.

8hrs a day everyday must really hit your electricity bill even if you have solar

    • Its actually not that bad, have a 10 kilowatt solar system and running the dehumidifier from 8 to 4 is usually covered by the solar, unless its cloudy. At a guess it uses about 400 watts

I was curious - if it runs at 400w average for 8hrs a day @ 42c/kwh (nsw prompted average), that's $1.34 per day or $489 per year. Wild.

The pool pump was the real killer for me, that was 1.5kW until I added a pump speed controller, now its only a few hundred watts as well. It all adds up I guess

        • Is the Ausclimate any good and does it use Tuya for wifi control?

The 750W Dimplex GDDE50E 50L I had which worked great for maybe 5x died just after its 2nd anniversary. Dimplex said it was out of warranty and gave me the run around for a month, so I took it apart, but no obvious issues.
