To fellow ozbargainers - is this a good deal?

  • +1

This deal link appears to be for a Samsung partnership program and prompts me for an employee email to sign in.

Not obtainable by regular Ozbargainers or am I just missing something?

    • Yup, it's an EPP deal. Edu store should have the same deal as well.

I thought the regular OzBargainers gained access through their student ID?

Not a great review for this one on rtings

For this price, it's a good deal

    • +2

Yeah, looked through the reviews as well and definitely wouldn't pay full price for it.

It is the second cheapest 75" Samsung TV on the EPP at the moment for that reason I would think. But for $40 more than the base LED U8500F, is it a no brainer Samsung upgrade for me anyway.

      • -1

        Fair point.
If you don't mind can I ask a help
Is there s25 ultra on EPP as well if you have access and what's the price please for 512gb

        • +1

No worries mate. It's $1,879.20 without trade ins.

Definitely worth waiting for trade deals I would say. Usually there's more savings then

          • -3

@sh4hp: Thx bro. Sorry another question does that price include the epp discount as well.

            • +2

              @dealt: That's all inclusive.

EPPs are good for newer releases as it's always 20-25% RRP. But for older models, you get better deals usually from other places unless it's on runout or there are trade deals.

Plus the normal Samsung website has more chat codes to be requested (got a 15% code for the outgoing 75" DU8000 which brought it to $1019 but it got taken off on 1 July when I wanted to get it for this financial year).

              • @sh4hp: Thx bro got it will keep an eye out

This or a tcl? Im leaning to tcl cause ppl are saying samsung tizen os is shit

Could always get a Google TV Streamer or Firetv stick

  • +1

Great TV, I got one in boxing day last year for just under $1k. Absolute bargain and 75 feels massive

    • +2

That's the older outgoing model I believe, which is actually superior to this one (120hz refresh rate vs 60hz and more bells and whistles apparently).

      That's definitely an absolute bargain.

      • +2

Oh wow awesome, makes me love mine even more now haha

Typical Samsung stripping features on new models to push you higher up the product line

ohhh great TVs now have AI in them… why? why the hell does a TV need AI? next a microwave will be sold with AI so it can think for you and heat up a meal without touching the serface… come AI companies… there are things that can have AI but there are things that shouldnt… and a TV is one of them.

    • TVs have had AI for years and years now. It is used for upscaling. Ever since the 2019 nVidia Sheild came out in 2019 there has been AI used for upscaling on TVs

      • ohh so not the AI like co pilot or Gemini or ChatGPT AI??

  • If you wanted this tv and your in TAS, just go to Melbourne via the ferry and bring it back.

    • On the chuck of Tasmania

How do you get this price? I’ve tried online and don’t have a staff or edu address.

      • Have been able to get into the edu store but it shows $1481

@sh4hp: Thanks. Wife works at ANZ. With her discount, Samsung chat discount and trade in, came out to $1104 for the U8500F 75"

        • Happy to help. Yeah, that's the price I got as well for the U8500F. Add $54 more and you get QLED hence the deal post.

  • Any thoughts on this alternative at the Good Guys - https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-75-inches-q6qau-qled-…
