  • This might be the first time in a long time that I don't end up buying anything during a sale. I guess if I manage to win something via the wheel then I guess I would buy something.

In short, now costs $9.90 min rather than the usual free + $7.95 shipping. ;-)

  • Unfortunately they seem to have stopped the deals on the nice rechargable ones.

    • I need a new keychain, and this would come in handy at work late at night when going outback/outside.

What do you guys recommend I buy from this store. I need a decent torch. Wouldn't mind something rechargeable too, or are the prices of those quite pricey?

How long is this offer on for?

Olight gear is undeniably nice, but it’s not great value - especially when it comes to their larger torches. That said, they do have some standout products, like the Obulb (I’ve got a few of those), and their magnetic tail-cap charging system is genuinely clever.

If you're after better value in full-size lights, check out Sofirn - a favourite on both OzBargain and BudgetLightForum. They offer excellent performance for the price and are readily available on Amazon. That said, Sofirn doesn’t have much to offer in the penlight or keychain category.

I’ve collected a few of the i3E EOS lights (those “free with purchase” promos), and they’re actually excellent AAA penlights - easily worth the $10ish they typically go for (postage included).

If you’re after something similar but USB-C rechargeable, have a look at the iR2 Pro keychain torch. It’s about twice as bright as the i3E, slightly smaller, and has two output levels - all for $23.96. You’re doubling up a bit with the free i3E, but it’s a small spend, and the iR2 Pro is arguably the nicer penlight to live with. (The i3Es also make great gifts.)

Short of a Rovyvon (arguably the ultimate keychain torch), the i3E and iR2 Pro are both great compact options, depending on your charging preferences.

Alright, thanks. I will take a look at all those.

The free keychain one, I assume I can only get one (I assume you can't do two separate orders?)? Was thinking about getting a second one for my father is all, but maybe your option of buying the iR2 pro for myself, and then give the i3E to him might be the other option.

Is BudgetLightForum the forums to go to for all questions related to torches/lights? Is there any reddit subreddits to check for information.

So for Amazon, Sofirm is the brand to go for? Any other places to look at for buying from?

@Ice009: Yep, just one free light per account per promo - but they run these events about every six weeks, so there’s no shortage of opportunities to collect free penlights (great for Christmas presents!). No stress if you miss this one.

Everyone loves those little penlights, so yep - excellent gift for your father. The iR2 is a cheap way to start with Olight, and it's a surprisingly capable little light.

Yes, BLF (BudgetLightForum) is the go-to for flashlight collecting. It's a deep rabbit hole.

/r/flashlight on Reddit is a great resource too.

Sofirn lights can be bought via Amazon, AliExpress, or directly from their site: https://www.sofirnlight.com. There are always sales happening, so just buy from whichever is cheapest depending on your patience for shipping. All are legit and reliable.

I really like Sofirn - my five main lights are all theirs. They're cheap, well-made, and the included batteries are excellent.

Other solid budget brands include Convoy, Wurkkos, and Lumintop, just to name a few.

  • Shame I just bought three $15 EDC01 Lumintop flashlights….

  • Theres a WINTER5 coupon for $5 off, til midnight. not quite free shipping but better than nothing
