best crust in the frozen pizza game

    • just ate my first Dr. O. and it was supremely good.

used to think that until I know Destination Italy from Coles

      • +1

I'll have to give them a try

the coles site is flashing, can't load properly. how much is the Coles italy pizza? $11 atm

        • +3

It was half-price a few weeks ago. For 11 bucks I couldn't justify any frozen pizza but at $5.50 it was by far the best I've tried. Added a bit of extra meat and parmesan to the Margherita and it topped anything I've ever had from Dominos/PH.

        • +3

never buy frozen pizza full price imo

    • Not at all - Destination Italy is where it's at.

    Not really a deal :(
Pretty regular price, unfortunately they don't seem to do half priced sales anymore on Dr Oetker.
Still the best tasting frozen pizza I've tried, although I haven't had those new Destination Italy ones from Coles yet, apparently they're tops too.

These used to be $3.75 regularly pre-COVID, the supermarkets are taking us all for a ride

      actually…..

  • +12

Exactly, these were good for $3.50 (half price) in 2014, not very big and you may as well get dominos when cheap.

25% off this kind of crap is hardly a deal, half price of the overinflated price is a bit better. Imagine if I posted everything that was 25% off..

      2014

Lot's of things were cheaper 11 years ago.

This Pizza is honestly better than Dominos, their quality is shocking these days.

        Make your own

  • Watched a YouTube video the other day and saw these were £1.49 (~$3.06) in England, I know different wages and cost of living but interesting how we pay 3x more for it whilst they are all made in Canada or Germany

Groceries were very expensive last time I went to the UK. I'd love to see an average 'basket' compared with Aus but I bet it'd be a lot more.

    • Was that a Will Tennyson video? If so, I spotted that too!

      • Haha yeah it was his video in that welsh town! Great video!

  • Getting pretty average with the toppings tbh. Cranked open a Mozzarella one yesterday - no Mozzarella 🤷

  • i miss the speciale variety

on the UK site they have prosciutto funghi, diavola and bolognese varieties too. damn

  • I don't think these pizzas are worth that much. Does anyone else get the weird chemical taste from them?

    • Lol describe yourself what is the taste

    • +7

need to remove the clear plastic wrapping before heating them up dude

      • They dry out too much with wrap removed

        • It says to remove the film on the back of the box.
I doubt it would be BPA free and would probably melt .. not sure who would leave it on!!

@G-rig: Thanks will remember next time.

It’s not even the same pizza anymore, they do the Canada import ( made in Canada ) instead of Germany. The taste is bad imao. But appreciate the post, OP.

  • Flavoured cardboard. Yetch!

It looks like this is on special for a second week at Woolies. Five varieties are selling for $6.50 each.

  • So disappointing that the Gluten free Dr Oetker's have all disappeared from shelves/online shopping. I've emailed Coles, Woolies and Dr Oetker and none have given any reasoning.
