  • That’s sigma!

Note that this only works with Sigma EF mount lenses.

Not really. I am using it with my EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM + Sony A7C II. AF-C works well for photos. However it does not work on video shoot.

This one specifically says Canon EF to Sony?

Apparenlty there are two versions and it is very dififcult to tell the difference.

I'm assuming that I have picked the Canon EF to Sony adapter?

I'm using this primarily on a 85L 1.2 prime, the autofocus on video isn't important atm. I just need a temporary lens. I will eventually buy the Sony 24-70 f2.8 or similar.

      • Just highlighting what it says in the listing on the website.

        • I did not neg, misread your comment anyway. Apparnetly, there is a variation that only adapts Sigma SA to Sony E. This one listed should be the Sigma EF to Sony E variation.

  • Is there such thing for Canon EF-S lenses? Or are they ready for the bin 😥

    • The physical mount of both are the same, if using the crop lens on a crop sony body

This adaptor won't work with EF-S lens!
I bought the MC-11 back in May. While it will take my EF lens, the EF-S lens will not fit.

I found another adaptor that they say will take EF-S which is made by 7Artisen (China brand) Have not got around to buys one yet. So YMMV

What I know is that there is only one MC-11 adaptor. So this is the one: connecting EF mount lens to Sony E mount. I have been using the MC-11 for many years.

    • Thanks!

    Such a good price OP!

The Canon EF to Sony FE adapters (especially Metabones) all increased significantly a year or so after release so anything at this price or lower is a bargain.

I use this paired with a a7iii and performance is generally good to awesome. In some situations the autofocus can be more accurate and even faster compared to the 5DMkIV (whilst benefitting from greater autofocus coverage and features such as Eye-Detect). It pairs well with portrait lens especially the fast f/1.2 lens.

It has run into hiccups with the following scenarios:
    * Canon 100-400mm it will sometimes struggle to autofocus towards the tail end of the focal range (around 370-400mm)
    * Autofocus will start to struggle in dusk conditions especially towards the edge of the frame
    * Sometimes shooting continuous autofocus with burst it will lockup the display and/or shutter and require reinsert of the camera battery to restart

    • Thanks! Handy info!
