The quality reflects the price
That makes sense. A cheap keyboard won't have the quality of an expensive one.
Think the Logitech MK270 was about that price last week (and the MK295 was around $35).
Not sure how they compare. Battery life claimed to be better for keyboard at least, 36 months and 18 months mouse for MK295, same 12 for MK270 mouse.
Logitech MK270 is 100x better, YMMV.
I am not sure about the HP, but MK270 keys are very sticky to me.
I have the Logitech K270 keyboard. It's okay. In terms of overall quality and key action, it's the minimum I'd accept for a keyboard. The keys feel more like a traditional desktop keyboard, whereas the HP is more like a laptop keyboard. The Logitech has a full 104-key layout with properly spaced-out function keys and separate media/shortcut keys that don't require a Fn modifier. It's also compatible with Unifying receivers. On the flip side, the HP has Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock lights. The Logitech has no lights, not even for Caps Lock, which I don't like at all.
If you need a keyboard I guess this is fine, but there are better deals that's come along for better quality keyboards for similar prices.
I've used this for a while now, little more premium than the one posted.. might not be for some people, but those on a budget looking for a better keyboard this might suit.

Has 2 Bluetooth & 1 dongle connection plus USB-C charging.
I have this, it's perfectly okay. Main issues are the battery life isn't as advertised; i dont know why but the keyboard starts flashing (whinging) about low battery way too regularly (every few months). The other problem i have is the scroll wheel on the mouse is a real squeaker so that's a bit annoying. But in terms of cheap keyboard and mouse on one dongle it's pretty decent, also if you need white to match the rest of the setup (which i did).

are you using rechargeables?
they have a lower voltage than alkaline, so will show you low battery much quicker.
I didn't know this myself, but rechargeable = 1.2V and alkaline = 1.5V.
rechargeable hold's it's 1.2V voltage until the last small amount then suddenly drops, while alkaline just drops from 1.5V slowly over time, so empty it will be slightly under 1.2V.
it depends on the device, but I put some rechargeables in a device the other day with a battery indicator. it showed 40% battery level with fully charged rechargeables.
so it will also show "low battery" quite early, even though the rechargeables have plenty battery left to go.
different types of rechargeables discharge differently too
yeah sorry should have mentioned it. just based on my use of Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries.
what I mentioned above is with AA's. but I got that mini Olight flashlight from a deal posted here, that was tested with alkaline and Eneloop Pro AAA.
the test showed the alkaline starts off brighter, but the more you use it, it drops in brightness quite quickly, ending up way less bright close to empty battery. while the Eneloop Pro showed slightly less bright at the start, and it basically keeps that brightness right up until it's empty. (it does reduce by a tiny bit but so little that it's barely noticeable)
basically shows you how the Rechargeable Eneloop works. so I put a Eneloop Pro AAA in mine.
16 months battery life?, based on how many hours of use /day?
I bought 4 last week. Please note these are the lightest, most plastic keyboard and mouse I've ever owned. The quality reflects the price.
