40% off Panama Geisha Single Estate, Moments to Memories Blend + Delivery ($0 with $69 Order, $0 C&C) @ Lime Blue Coffee

410

Hey Oz Bargain Community,

Since the fantastic success of the Geisha coffees we've previously launched (well I think they were successful based on the feedback and how quickly they sold out) we regularly receive messages and emails saying "…when will you get more Geisha!" I wrapped to announce the time has come for another release of some wonderful Geisha coffee!!! There was a time I thought there'd be no way we could viably offer it within the next year due to the combination of the wild pricing roller-coaster the coffee market has gone through in recent times mixed with the rarity and pricing of Geisha even in calmer times let alone wild times. However, things lined up and we were able to do a deal for a number of super rare coffees and new featured single origins to make it viable to bring this deal to you (well I guess you're the best one to determine if it's viable, but without the specific group purchase we achieved the Panama Geisha as a stand alone would have been too costly for us to offer it to you). The Panama Geisha details will seem like a mini novel (hopefully you find it to be a worthy read), but the info about about Moments to Memories Blend (also featured in this deal) is succinct. You ask, we listen, so here we go :)

We're offering you a 40% discount off our much loved Moments to Memories Blend and…Now it's time for a super drum roll please…I'm extremely excited to announce due to popular demand the release of a extremely special Geisha coffee from the famous growing region of Panama, get excited because this deal also features 40% off this rare (and only a relatively limited amount available, so if you're keen don't wait and miss out), wonderfully delicious Panama Geisha coffee, more details below:

1) Moments to Memories Blend, only $31.50 per 1kg (usually $52.50 per 1kg) and $18.15 per 500g (usually $30.25 per 500g)

2) Panama Carmen Geisha Shade Grown Single Estate Coffee, only $83.40 per 200g (usually $139 per 200g). I know this may seem like a tremendous amount of money for coffee beans, but I do honestly still think it's a deal due to the quality and fact the price is well below what you'd normally pay for a Panama Geisha of this high quality. Please believe me, we honestly haven't woken up and decided that we should blow out profits. If we were somehow focused solely on profits (although important to keep the lights on, profits are not our sole focus) then we simply wouldn't be offering coffees this high quality at all. This coffee isn't about profit for us, it's about sharing something extra special with you (and our small team which is an extra perk of having this coffee on hand). This wonderful coffee estate has done won the famous Best of Panama auctions before with one of their lots fetching a absolutely wild $10,005 USD per kg (keep in mind that's the unroasted cost, so when you account for mass loss during roasting and convert to AUD that equates to close to $18,000 AUD per kg)!!! Granted that wild price was for a different Geisha from that Estate and I not trying to imply this coffee is worth anywhere close to that other lot of theirs that fetched the astronomical price (if I'm honest it's hard to fathom a coffee so delicious it costs the same per kg as a car). I'm just trying to convey that these farmer's really do know what they're doing and this coffee is truly wonderful and something I find to be quite special. Please note this Geisha has a very specific flavour in the direction of floral, fruity and tea notes. If you want a coffee similar in flavour to most other coffees then this isn't the one for you. Also if you only enjoy coffee with milk and don't like black coffee, this also isn't the one for you; not a coffee snob comment at all, put simply the floral, fruity notes don't pair well with milk, so it just won't be an enjoyable coffee with milk. We're also featured our Moments to Memories Blend in this deal, so there should be something that suits everyone available. All that said, if you're open to a coffee flavour adventure and want to treat yourself to something extra special then this is the winning Geisha coffee from Panama is the one for you, I absolutely love it!!! My detailed comments on this coffee are not indented to deter you, I just appreciate that you likely work hard for your money and so I want you to enjoy the coffee you spend that hard earned money on, as such I'm just trying to ensure if you get this one you'll be ready to absolutely love it, having all the transparent flavour info prior to purchasing :)

Morning @Sidor I know it does seem like a wild price pro rata per kg (available in 200g quantities), but it's directly correlated to the increased cost to us for a coffee like this, we haven't suddenly jacked up our prices. The Panama Geisha will be a come and go type coffee as in, it's just meant to be an opportunity for an coffee adventure experience, it'll be featured until sold our or the deal expires and then you won't see it available again from us for a year or two, perhaps even longer…time will tell. I know the Panama Geisha won't be everyone's cup of tea (coffee) in terms of both flavour and price, which is why this deal also features our Moments to Memories Blend for $31.50 per kg so you don't need to break the bank to get some fresh delicious coffee :)

I think most filtered coffee use around 15-20 grams of beans each cup. So maybe around 10-13 cups in that bag.

@williamk30: you're right. lots of cranky people on here today :-)

    • +9

Yup. This is the coffee equivalent of buying a bottle of Penfold's Grange to actually, you know, drink it. If you have a palate which can really appreciate it for what it is then you're the type who'd think it's an awesome deal. If, however, like a lot of people on OzB you think Aldi beans are the best thing ever then it would be totally wasted on you. I personally don't have that sort of palate so I won't be buying it, but kudos to the OP for batting up a stellar option for those folks who do appreciate the finer things in life.

BTW - the MTM beans which are also featured are amazing on their own. I've bought it plenty of times and highly rate it for both milk & black coffee.

      • Very well said @Chazzozz !!!

Thank you for that terrific vote of confidence about our deal and your personal experience with our Moments to Memories blend, your continued support is truly appreciated and not taken for granted :)

    • Good coffee isn't cheap.

Props for how easy it is to update an existing order. I was able to login and update an order i made a month ago that is due for dispatch in a couple of weeks. Updated the dispatch date and added a bag of decaf.

    • Fantastic to hear @CptTerry very happy to know our unique tech systems are a win for you, we've got more innovation on that front in the works, but it's still a little while off :)

Thank you so much for adding to what I'm sure was already a terrific order!

Decent price - on par with some specialty coffee shops I've been to.
I've not brewed geisha before but normally put 15g to get 250mL for my drip. Comes out to 13 drink for a 200g pack, or $6.41 per cup. Easy to rationalise when the café across the road from my office is $5 for a stock standard small latte. Specialty cafes charge upwards $15/cup for geisha. Some higher cupping score ones will be $25/cup. Won't be for everyone, but one for the coffee enthusiasts.

    • Another very well said comment, thank you @cpho :)

Love the coffee math skills, I should have broken down the per cup price into the post!

  • Thanks Tom, buzzing to cup it with the crazy greens that CoffeeSnobs released last week. Any tips on roasting Geishas? Don't really go through enough to do much experimenting with them so I've just been treating them like any other fruity light roast.

If you're taking requests from choosing beggars, any more EK43s in your warehouse?

Hey @nubix appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

Hmmm I'd say be super careful, specifically building up ROR to FC and after FC to the Drop. I'm not sure what equipment you're using, but generally with Geishas there's a very fine line between exquisite and the other end of the spectrum and if your ROR is too high when FC commences it's very hard to recover.

haha we've EKs are all sold out for the time being…well I do have a prior model one from back in the day, but it looks it's age with scratches so I don't know if it'd be the one for you, unless you're not fussed how it looks and just keep on the function. May be getting some more EKs some time in the not too distant future, but not 100% sure either way yet :)

Had been waiting for a while to get the Brazil São Paulo Single Origin. Any chance of it going on sale ?
Or might have to pull the trigger and try the Aldi beans :(

    • +1

Hey @bargainhuntr never hurts to ask!

We tend to focus on one deal at a time, so I'm not quite sure when our Brazil will next be featured in a deal. Based on your enjoyment of our Brazil Single Origin, I'd be astounded if you didn't also enjoy our Moments to Memories Blend which is also featured in this deal :)

      • thanks for responding, i am infact currently using the Moments to Memories Blend, but jsut waiting to finish it so I can get my hands on the Brazil Single Origin

  • I'd love to grab a bag of the geisha but I have 2 other orders that I have made for pick up for next week. Is there any chance I can change those to be shipped with a new order for the geisha? Thanks!

      Hey @lukejoh terrific to hear!

I love the sound of that idea and we can certainly make that happen for you. Two ways to go about it:

      1) Simply open the order confirmation email for the existing order, click the "edit or view your order" button contained in the email and follow the prompts to edit the order yourself

      or

      2) Simply send a reply email to the order confirmation email requesting we make the edit/s for you :)

  • Keeping an eye out for the next thank you blend sale @ around $23+pnp, almost out of my last bag! On the plus side, someone at work just started home roasting so…guinea pig!

    • Off-topic but…what do you use at home for a roaster? I've been curious to try myself but never pulled the trigger.

      • I don't, the guy at work bought one from AliExpress and modified it a lot before using it, now the stuff he makes is really nice and consistent in small batch volumes.

        • Well, there you go! A whole ‘nother rabbit-hole to dive down in the AliExpress app. Thanks for sharing!

  • Pretty decent price the Panama Geisha but I found Colombia Geisha to be much better bang for buck (~$30 per 200g) with a very similar profile. Tbh I probably prefer CG

    • Which roaster are do you normally get CG from?
