Not sure if this is suppose to be in the forum but,
Could I get any tips or suggestions on great value boat hire places/services around Sydney or within a 2 hour ride. It'll have to not require a boat license. I have checked out a boat hiring service in manly which seems very well priced at around 200 for 6 hours, but its quite dodgy looking. I wouldn't mind forking a bit extra or perhaps traveling further for a better boat though.

Explains in NSW you must have a licence for people aged 16 years and over to drive a powered vessel at 10 knots or more
So if the boat is capable of more but is fitted with a governor by the hirer you should be ok.
Akuna Bay is fantastic location to start boat holiday, the Hawkesbury river has about 1000K's shoreline without going out the heads, most is a national park, plus visit the beautiful Pittwater.
