Concert Tickets Mess up

I bought some tickets for a band this Friday night. I discovered today I bought tickets for another venue a month ago.

I called Moshtix to see if they can transfer the ticket, they said no refunds, four times. I haven’t used the QR code - do you think it will work at a different venue? It’s a nationwide tour.

I’m really upset. Moshtix are not helpful.

Does anyone have any idea of how to get around this? I don’t have any extra money.

Thank you for your help.

Edit: I wasn’t expecting anything. I wasn’t demanding anything. I know I was in the wrong. I was just wondering if someone had a sincere idea of how to help me.

Worked out. There are good people out there. To the young people, ask an older person (40+) with the same love in them as you have, they’ll know who to ask for for help. Everything that’s stuffed up has happened to them, and they know how things work. This kind of took the shine off it for me, but I still had a good time. There are good people out there, and most people are good really.

I bought some tickets for a band this Friday night

According to your post, you didn't

      • Why would you be stressed ordering tickets?

        • -2

I’m sick. And I didn’t want to miss out. I thought they’d sell out.

MATE…. you purchased tickets for the wrong venue and even the wrong date. Which has pasted but now expect Moshtix to fix your 'mistake'.

    your post tells another story.

Does anyone have any idea of how to get around this?

Time travel back and tell your earlier self to check the venue and date before pressing buy.

      • +3

I expect someone to help me with my mistake.

Help you how? You booked the wrong date, the wrong venue, and now what you have booked has passed. Your tickets are a no show, money gone.

There is no 'magic' fix any of that.

Sometimes you screw up, time to own it. It is no one elses problem or doing.

        • -8

No - but people can help you when you mess up. I haven’t used it. I should be able to transfer it.

            @Yellow House:

I haven’t used it. I should be able to transfer it.

Oh but you have used it, the event has been and gone and you did a no show to the event.

Your seat Sat empty, all lonely without you. Services had been rendered. Nothing to transfer.

Moshtix has a responsibility to give you the tickets to the event you have paid for, not to save you from yourself.

      I’m sick.

You’ve never clicked on the wrong thing online?
      You’re perfect? “Brendanm”

      • +1

Nope, not something like that. Dates need to be double checked.

    sounds like a "you" problem

    • Why I asked others for help. To see if there was a way to use the QR code.

  • You best bet is to approach the band/mgt and ask for help, as you've already paid and they've received(/will) their cut.

Imagine you bought an airfare for last month through a travel agent, and then want them to give you new seats in the future because you missed your flight for whatever reason. Where are they going to get the seats? Pay for it themselves/pull it out of their …?

Bit related/not. Years ago, I must have been distracted in the lounge and missed the last call and ran for my life only to find the gates had closed. I could have called my secretary to transfer my flight and look like a goose, but I politely asked the lounge staff and luckily it was an exy business ticket, so they put me on the next flight. Never again, I always tell myself.

    • Thank you ihbh. I’ve done that. I thought someone might know for sure if I can use the QR code. You are a really lovely and wise person.

      • Thank you again. I’m just going to try and figure it out.

  • Rock and Troll, baby.

        • Maybe. So far I'm tempted to press the flush button, on this fable, anyway.
How did so many ppl miss the free June / July give away for free troll accounts?

I dont think you'll find any help in a post like this.. There's not a lot of pity for something like this (sorry to say)

What you're better off doing is posting in the classifieds to sell (or swap) them. You can do this in the Ozbargain classified or any others (fb marketplace?) There's obviously no guarantee you'll be able to sell it, but I think it'll be a more productive outcome than posting your problem here.

BTW to answer your question.. No I don't believe the qr codes will work. Computers are pretty smart

I can guarantee they won't be able to sell it.
According to OP, the tickets they have are for an event last month. Even if they are "unused", they are unusable now.

LOL Sell or swap what? A expired ticket for a show from a month ago!?

There's obviously no guarantee you'll be able to sell it,

There is a 100000% guarantee they won't be able to sell it. If the OP does, I've got a bunch of expired movie tickets up for sale!

  • When you bought the Moshtix Ticket, did you opt for Ticket Protection via https://bookingprotect.com?

    • -1

No. I just bungled everything. I just didn’t look at the right day as I was panicking. They’re like pearl jam to me I’m in the wrong. Thank you for your kind answer :)
I’m just going to ask someone in management and explain things.
The “when you get older” comment was meant for this, you’re going to get sick and not be able to focus, a man on the bus fainted and you couldn’t wake him up, breathing, but you couldn’t wake him up. I got ptsd, I disassociate and can’t feel my body, plus panic and it being the first time you pick the wrong box.
This is going to happen and you’ve got to find someone who understands who can help you.
There are good people out there.
Thank you for the nice help.
      Bye

      • PTSD from someone fainting? Sounds like you have some far more significant, deeper issues than expired tickets that need addressing.

  • Sell your incorrect ticket on Tixel.
    Buy the ticket you need.

Except their held ticket is for an event in the past. So… just suck up the mistake and buy the ticket that you actually need.

Let me know how you go selling a expired ticket for a show from a month ago!? Any takers?

  • +1

We're the tickets already expired? Can I buy tickets for the Beatles in (insert whatever year they came to Australia) from Moshtix?

  • +4

Try Reddit, they’re more understanding than Ozbargainers. We’re just keyboard warriors here.

      Well played sir!

  • What an absolutely ridiculous question.

  • It sucks you don't get dont get to see your favourite band but now you understand the importance of triple checking everything. It's not about the 10,000 times you got it right, it's for the 1 wrong time you got it wrong.

The mega ticketing corporations have absolutely killed the live music scene in the pursuit of profit.

Everyone gets screwed, the musicians, the venue owners, the fans. Only the corporations win. Something has to change.
