Refusing a Delivery from DHL

Hey OzB folks, does anyone have any experience refusing a delivery from Samsung via DHL?

I bought the HW-Q930F via the employee portal, and then read the fine print on the terms and conditions of the 100 day money back guarantee, which states purchases via EPP are expressly excluded from the guarantee. My bad for not ctrl+f before buying, but pretty sneaky I feel, as the guarantee was plastered all over the product page even on the EPP site.

I tried to cancel the order straight away the next morning, but it was already prepared for dispatch and couldn't be cancelled.

Anyway, a Samsung rep said '(Thu, 17 Jul 2025 07:20:48) Global_ePromoter_SEAU:

As the stock has already been allocated. Best suggestion I can give you is
just reject the order on the delivery day for a return and refund.'

I'm considering this as an option.

Cheers for any advice based on your experiences.

Refuse to accept delivery, as already advised, by the rep. Not sure what other options are available…..

Thanks for that. I am interested to know if anyone else has done this and what the refund process/ timeframe looks like. I don't think I have to fill out a return form, as the item would bit technically have been delivered (but not sure about this).

I imagine it will be slow, but so long as I get a full refund (and not charged for return shipping or delivery) I don't mind.

      • Talk to Samsung….again

          I'd rather not

          • @Froppt0r: Because….?

            • @oscargamer: Personal reasons…

@jv: @oscargamer, I took your advice and got back in touch with Samsung. They confirmed a full refund, 3-5 days from when the item arrives at their warehouse. I read somewhere that there might be some delays on the DHL side, but I'm unsure about that.

          • @Froppt0r: You don't have a choice, they have your $ and have shipped you something you purchased..

Follow their process, and if so enclined please report back on your experience here, so as to inform a future person in your predicament.

@xuqi: Thanks @xuqi, I originally posted this to find out about other people's experience rejecting a delivery, from both the DHL and Samsung perspective.

Good idea to post an update once I have an outcome, as it may help someone else.

Reject and give my address. I don't mind.

Out of curiosity, how often are you returning things to the point that you no longer want a particular product because you can't return it for free?

    • -5

I get the gist of what you're asking.

Sometimes, I won't consider a product from a seller if it doesn't have a change of mind for full refund policy.

I was suckered in and didn't read the fine print, which was particularly fine. That's on me, so if I can't return it, I'll suck it up and enjoy the speakers.

      • You were not suckered into anything

You actually bought something, then changed your mind

I'm guessing you are in your early 20's?

Their attitude explains why Sony has so many TVs new with box open sales. The sloth of some ppl is hilarious. Can't be bothered researching of checking out products in the flesh, read reviews, google etc.

Do you not want the item?

    Why order it then…

I wanted the option to return it, if I wasn't satisfied (per the 100 day guarantee on the regular Samsung store).

    Are you an Employee?

    • @playerzer2 No, I'm not an employee of Samsung. Sorry, my original post should have said Enhanced Partnership Portal (not employee).

  • You certainly sound hard to please. Enjoy your speakers and stop thinking about how something else might be better.

      Don't worry, I will.

The alternative is Yamaha, which I don't think will be better from an listening perspective… Just easier to hide the sub and smaller satellites, which may suit the room better.

Just curious where purchases made via EPP are explicitly excluded? Had a read through the T&Cs and couldn’t see anything. The closest exclusion are employees of the promoter.

The vacuum cleaner T&Cs explicitly include EPP as eligible

    • Hey @Olokun, thanks for taking a look. I think this part from point 5. C) is where the exclusion is stated: 'Online bidding or auction websites (including www.ebay.com.au) or any unauthorised retailers
which are not listed in the table above are expressly excluded. Samsung’s Enhanced
Partnership Portals are also expressly excluded from this Promotion.'

Which is frustrating, since they clearly promoted the guarantee on the products portal site.

My postie got really shirty when he came to my door with a delivery, and I refused to accept it and closed the door on him. And the attitude continued with subsequent deliveries I did accept.

(I knew who it was from. A neighbor who thought he could harass me into doing something he wanted with "legal letters".)
