Is This a Good Android Auto/Apple Carplay Unit?

Hey fellow OZB experts.

I am looking for one of these dash top multifunctional screen.

A little nervous about buying no name brand from AliExpress so found this in BingLee https://www.laserco.com.au/car-accessories/laser-10-inch-por…

Wondering if anyone has experience with this model, I assume it is OEM of something that can be bought cheaper in AliExpress or Amazon.

Recommendations? Of brand model retailer? Yes… AliExpress ok too as long as it's a good model.

Looking for both Android and Apple wireless. Already have dashcams so not a deal breaker if unit doesn't. Look for around $100.

Thanks in advance.

  • But the shortcut buttons are on the wrong side of the unit.

Sold under many names including B5303. Should be under $100 delivered, with a basic rear camera included.

They are great value. You don't need a powerful cpu of lots of ram for carplay/auto, just a decent screen. So they can be cheap. Yopur phone does all the hard work.

Avoid the ones built on Android (can run android apps) as these cost a lot more to be decent.

    • The one that runs Android can run waze standalone using mobile hotspot ? Are you able to share any such unit links please? Thanks

      • I came across this carpuride 9 inch one. Looks ok. Might get that.

  • Anything not 'brand name' will pretty much be the same no-name units out of china. The only difference is the local distributor (and warranty) you pay extra for.

    • Even brand name ones can be bad. You can get generic ones that are better than brand name ones. It's kind of the Wild West when it comes to CarPlay/Android Auto.

    • So better to pay the premium on Amazon for return policy than AliExpress?

Someone shared this in the past, has good reviews

I am curious if these kind of units can have standalone Navigation, unlike the one above which only works on pairing with Android or iphone

  • Are there any unit that does audio out via BT? I see it mention audio via FM radio?

    • Most of them Audia via BT too, when paired with phone
