How Do You Share Amazon Prime in a Household

Hi ,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but if a household member has Amazon prime how do others in the house use it for deliveries? Do you have to login to that person account and add your payment method and buy under their name?

Is there no way of adding household members or a family plan kind of thing?

    Look up Amazon family.

Not actually available in Australia unfortunately.

      • We have it with our Amazon account. It is under “your account” under “Ordering and shopping preferences”. We have a number of people defined. Maybe we are grandfathered.

        • That's for Kids and Video profiles. You cannot share Prime with family members in Aus yet. You can in UK/US.

          • @Hybroid: We have a friend who uses our account to get things delivered. He uses his own name and address.

            • @try2bhelpful: Different login?

              • @PissLUR: Probably. They do have different postage addresses and names though. We don’t leave credit card details in our system so they can do their own ordering.

                • @try2bhelpful: change your password and you'll know that it is all under the same login detail.

                  • @PissLUR: Not that big a deal for us. We don’t keep credit cards on line.

  • I just give them my account details, and then they add their own shipping details (but only my brother uses it)

Just make sure they’re not buying vibrators.

Im the family supermarket tbh. I have multiple lists, buy when on sale then redistribute to family who pay cash or bank transfer etc.

Starting to wonder if I should just get a POS scanner myself?

    • Redistribute at full price no doubt?

      • Not really. I usually carry a round down loss of a few dollars tbh

It's just what you do. Not going to quibble with my parents over pennies

  • Just share the password, have them add their own card. Easy enough to check whether someone "accidentally" used your card. They can add their own nane in addresses too

    • We don’t leave a credit card on record.

No, we all have our own Prime accounts.

I'm the Prime member in the family. Every one in my family just messages me with what they want to buy, and I use their credit card for those purchases. They either pick up the items from my house later in the week, or on some occasions I get the items delivered straight to their house.

It probably doesn't help you with payments etc., but we use the Profiles: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.html?node…

My wife and I use this, so it's the same payment method, whether the profiles could link their own default payment, or they just have to remember to change the payment method every order, I'm not sure.
