Meross Smart Garage Door Opener Wiring Issues

Hi guys,

I bought the Meross smart garage door opener recently and have been having some issues installing it. It says it's compatible on the the compatibility checker (I have a Gliderol Genesis garage opener).

I need to connect the wiring to the PB and GND as per diagram here. However I'm not sure how I connect this as there doesn't seem to be any slots to insert the wiring into, it's just these protruded metal tips on the board.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

        So, resolved?

But, hey, OzBargainers will keep arguing about it for a while anyway.

  • I’ve just installed one on my GlidrollGRD. To say the instruction from Meross were vague was an understatement. I ended up taking the unit off the wall, took the pcb board out and had to screw them down directly onto the board. Pain in the arse, but works so well now.

I suggest you get a pro as these are standard connectors and if you do not know what they are then you do NOT have the tools to rework the cable and have no idea where to buy the connector.

I you do want t DIY take the cable and photos to Jaycar and ask them to supply everything you need to get the job done and then you tube how to use the parts Jaycar gave you.

Connectors are already attached to the motherboard, this is definitely DIY.

      • The PCB connector is male and the cable connector is also male from images supplied.

Please advise how the connector and cable work when they are both male.

        • The PB and GND slots will be similar to speaker connectors, just insert the bare wire in and release.

          • @nocure: Check out the PCB image as the PCB has through hole male header pins for PB and GND as per the silk screen text, they are not anything like speaker connectors I have ever seen. They are not banana connector or speaker connector type block where you push the wire in.

I've had these in the past and they tend to die quickly. YEMV.

    • Just buy a $18 replacement wofea on aliexpress. I've installed 3 of such unit in the last 4-5 years, non has failed yet.
