TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, and avoid browsers such as Brave.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIMs must be activated within 30 days of purchase and must remain active for at least 90 days after activation to be eligible for cashback. No retention required for pre-paid after activation.
  • Cashback is ineligible on all other (unlisted) plans, business plans, recharges, upgrade services, additional postpaid plans, add-ons, mobile broadband, prepaid handsets, and tablets
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • For prepaid plans, cashback is calculated on the purchase price.
  • Cashback is paid once per transaction, regardless of the number of plans purchased on that order.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Vodafone have doubled their network coverage.

Our new regional network will cover 98.4% of the Australian population. You will immediately have access to nearly one million square kilometres of coverage, including 5G in areas where it is already available.

Note: Vodafone supposedly charges a $8 fee for porting-out.

We charge $8 to transfer your number to another provider.

So it is best not to port-in your primary number/ a number that you will need to port out at the end of the plan (unless you are happy paying the fees, of course).

    • +2

Wrong. The fee only applies to their postpaid plans

    • +4

@A-B This offer is for prepaid SIM plans and there is NO porting fee. The $8 you mentioned is for porting postpaid mobile numbers which is different.

      • +2

Oh, ok. I didn't know the fee applied to their post-paid plans only. Sorry!

  • These don't include calls to any other countries right? Is there a prepaid plan with Vodafone that does?

    • +4

@ganjadeals The 28-day plans in this post include international calls.

If you're referring to the 12-month plans, the $320 320GB plan includes "International calls: 6000 mins and to Zone 1 1200 mins to Zone 2".
TopCashback has 15% cashback ($48) on the $320 plan so it would be $272 after cashback. There is no discount from Vodafone currently.

Here are the details for the 3 plans in this post:

      • $179 220GB 12-month plan includes "International texts: 50 standard international texts". (Not international calls)

      • $12 75GB 28-day plan includes "International calls and texts: 500 mins to Zone 1 and 50 standard international texts".

      • $20 150GB 28-day plan includes "International calls and texts: Unlimited to Zone 1, 200 mins to Zone 2, and 50 standard international texts".

  • Is Vodafone as good as Optus now because they share the same towers, or have I got that wrong?

    • +3

      Better for regional areas now.

One big recent coverage change is TPG's network-sharing agreement with Optus. This means Vodafone network customers now get access to Optus coverage when in remote and regional areas. This puts Vodafone's coverage at 98.4% of the population, just 0.1% lower than Optus.

In my experience, i have noticed voda performing better than teslstra in crowded areas and indoors. When i was with boost, i struggled to get any reception in certain shopping centres- specifically westfield Sydney and castle towers. Putting in a complaint didnt do anything

      • +1

I'm with Telstra prepaid on my main number and Boost on a spare number. I found Telstra to be better than Boost.

I've also used a Telstra business phone plan at the same time and found the business connection more reliable than my Telstra prepaid. (The business phone was an older phone too.)

There are anecdotal reports of Telstra prioritising their services where there's congestion:
Emergency Services > Telstra Business Customers > Telstra Postpaid > Telstra Prepaid > Boost Prepaid (Cheapest)

Depending on your location, Vodafone may work better in some areas than Boost and vice versa.

  • what are folks' experience with Vodafone in Melbourne? mainly city and towards south eastern suburbs.

    • +2

To be more specific to your locations and device, you could buy the 28-day SIM for $6 (after cashback) and test it out.

There seem to be mixed reviews for all the telcos. I've seen both positive and negative comments about Vodafone in Melbourne.

Will check with the rep when the Vodafone offer expires.

      • +1

        thanks for your reply!

it would be good to know when the offer expires..

        • +1

Offer ends on 24th July 11:59pm AEST.

A few weeks ago, someone in Sydney mentioned the Vodafone SIM card was delivered the next business day.

  • What if I activate it by end of September, will the cashback be invalidated?

    • +1

Cashback could be rejected as Vodafone T&Cs state to activate within 30 days of purchase.

The offer was 15% cashback, increased to 30%. It would probably return to 15% cashback. There could be another upsized offer in September.

  • +1

any luck on activating this on your current-Vodafone prepaid plan?

    • +2

As the plan is for new connections only, you would have to port out into another provider and then port back into Vodafone with your existing number.

      • understood. thanks.

I remember I bought a Telstra $2 sim card and it asks me to pick a plan for activation purposes. (this experience is around 5 years ago.)

what $2 simcard would be best for port out purposes, without needing to buy plans for activation?

*on top of this, my transaction got tracked immidieatly.

        • Telstra $2 SIM seems to be working recently for the purpose of porting out and in. You can't use amaysim $2 SIM though.

Thanks for the update about the immediate tracking.

          • @trixieb: With porting in and out, even if you use the same email on new sign up, with it count as new customer from Cashback company’s end?

  • +2

Thanks OP, grabbed a 365 day sim. Fingers crossed it tracks & reception is good for me.

    • +1

      did it track?

      • It's showing it has. Can't withdraw at this stage, but it's there.

  • Hasn’t tracked after 48 hours, has anyone else tracked and how long did it take?

    • +1

      Doesn't sound right…

    • +1

@Deals For Days There have been reports of tracking within a few minutes to a few hours. Unfortunately if still untracked, you would submit a missing cashback claim.

You can either lodge now or wait 7 days from purchase date. If you submit now, the claim will be put ‘On Ice’. It would be automatically taken 'Off Ice' after 7 days and submitted.

      • Submit missing cashback claim here.

      • The tracking is not added manually. You can check on the progress of your claim or add further info here.

      • If you wish to contact support, here is the link.

It can take several months to be resolved. There is usually no response during the waiting period. TopCashback will contact you if they need more info. My missing cashback claims have all been paid.

From TopCashback: Why is it taking so long for you to process?

      Good luck!

      • +1

Thanks for that. Should be okay because the topcashback app tracked my visits so they know i went through them. Cheers.

        • For future reference, it is recommended to use the TopCashback app, click the pink button to the merchant's website, mobile data (no Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

          • @trixieb: Yeah it’s weird I did all. On iOS. Who knows

            • +1

@Deals For Days: I've better tracking success using the above tip.

Also these tips from the rep that are in the post description:

              • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, and avoid browsers such as Brave.
              • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).
  • Does $5/day roaming work on this?

    • +1

      Unfortunately not. Haiyaa!

Vodafone's $5 roaming is included with all of its postpaid mobile plans.

Vodafone prepaid plans don't include $5 roaming, but have prepaid roaming packs. These range from $5 for 200MB of data with a one-day expiry to $35 for 2GB of data with a maximum expiry of seven days. They're poor value for money, so we wouldn't recommend them.

      • Fair enough, thanks!

  • Just confirming that if I make two separate transactions/orders, cashback will track for both individually?

    • +1

Yes. If you need 2 or more SIMs, you would make a separate purchase for each SIM for the cashback.

Start all over again to ensure individual tracking. Click the pink button at TopCashback through to Vodafone website for each transaction.

      T&Cs:

Cashback is paid once per transaction, regardless of the number of plans purchased on that order.

      • +1

Awesome, thanks. Just double checking 😬

  • +2

    Grabbed "$250 SIM 220GB 365-Day $179 (Sale) 30% = $53.70 $125.30".
    TCB tracked without issue.

    Thanks OP

  • I'm using lebara ATM.
M I count as for new connections if I'm port out?

    • Yes

      • Lebara using Vodafone network.
I can't find any info on the website.
Can you tell me how u know ?

        Thank

  • +1

Great deal. 5G and includes option for esim.

  • Is anyone still waiting for cashback to track despite the app pop up confirming that it's registered your visit?

  • Is porting from Kogan regarded as a new Vodafone customer?
