Wow that is really cool I can finally get the Rillaboom!
I don't play much anymore. But I managed to catch a Rillaboom when I was in Tokyo. I just don't see how there is ever going to be enough players to take one on here in Australia. There was 30 in the raid, did three, all close, won just two. Granted that it was just randoms, but still.
Check campfire to see if there's an active local community that play , the most local active community here are able to complete a GMax battle with ~10 players sometimes less. Gmax needs investment and strategy
I'm guessing Rillaboom is the best?
They are all good attackers for their respective type.
Probably Inteleon if you have to pick one.

Legit any are great. None can be shiny. Just pick the one you like the most.
Inteleon is supposed to be best in terms of being the strongest water type

After you select which Pokemon, the 'Gigantamax Journey Timed Research' will appear under the 'Events' Tab (Under the Go Pass and Dynamax Lati@s Timed Research).
First Task is to collect MP from 3 Power Spots, which will reward you the G-Max Pokemon.
