I believe this is the same one as the American one T/Sal which sells for $20-$30 , 3xCamel says this is the lowest price till now , ordered 2 every 4 months .

Great for dandruff and SebDerm (iykyk) .

Edit : so apparently the original T/Gel is discontinued and is replaced by the Salicylic acid one now which is around $13-$15 , I think Aldi is selling the popular 2 pack for $20 but the link to the page on their website is broken

Oh what they replaced it? No coal tar in this one? Oh well im using the older one as i have a few bottles left from Aldi / previous deals but good to know i guess, thanks for posting.

Yeah Im the same got the new bottles from ALDI not sure if this will be a direct replacement for the coal tar formulation. I guess there is always sebitar which combines both tar and salicylic acid

Yep ive used Sebitar before too but it does have some drawbacks; notably seeing my hairdresser and her asking if i had accidentally set my hair on fire recently (due to the smell!) hehe.

(profanity) me, I found out about the TGel changing this week and picked up some Sebitar and I'm never leaving the house again after using it once

My n=1 is that Sebitar (coal tar + salicylic acid) works better.

Loved the sample of one notation - stealing that mate!

Sebitar is great I'm not worried about the smell , can always condition afterwards to try blunt the smell

  • Suitable for doggies with same conditions? 🐕

  • Something to note on this version, it has no smell, the other version smells like harsh chemicals

    • Means this is better?

To be honest, I dont care about the smell. I just need the result for what I am paying and buying the product. Just being back the coal tar version.

idk if its the fumes talking..but i kind of liked the smell of the old one lmao

  • I've been told by a GP recently that the gel based anti dandruff shampoos are not effective. What everyone's experience with this shampoo and how often do you use it to ensure it works for you?

    • I suspect most (not all) here on OzBargain/in Australia haven't got a huge sample size with this version of the Shampoo. The previous version was a dark amberish colour and contained Coal Tar in it. With that version I had really good results, itching and flaking eradicated after a couple weeks. I haven't tried the Salicylic Acid (this one) version enough to know if it works as well

Nizoral or sebitar are great for dandruff, head and shoulders never cut it

    • I’ve used maybe 12 bottles of the coal tar one in 2 years, the smell is terrible but I got used to it and kinda like it now lol .

Very effective with dandruff and scalp redness, I use the foam from my head on my face and chest as well as well as I have Seborrheic Dermatitis and never had any problems, not sure if the Salicylic acid one will be though

  • Coal tar version was very effective, luckily I still have 2 bottles, I used it pretty much every day until my dandruff was under control and now I only used it once a week or every fortnight.

The secret is using a nicely scented conditioner after it to get rid of the tar smell.

Judging by the nutragena website they have many angry customers screaming bloody murder over the formula change also claiming the new version doesn't work in the reviews, also NHS Scotland advised medical practitioners not to recommend the new formula and listed alternatives with coal tar.

    • Also be aware that there is a coal tar scented shampoo that has no coal tar in it.

Quick update, hate the Salicylic acid one, the coal tar one made my hair feel so clean after washing it but this one just keeps my hair oily.

      • I tried it also its very average isnt it, maybe clean some scalp pimples?
