[BNE] Metamucil Orange 14 Sachets for $0.50 - Save $1.49 *75% off*

50

I was walking through the lobby of Greenslopes Hospital while visiting a friend and noticed the pharmacy advertising the Metamucil Orange 14 sachets for $0.50. This works out to be around $0.04 per dose. I went to take a look closer and they usually sell it for $1.99. I compared Chemist Warehouse price for Metamucil in the large bottle and they sell the 114 dose version for $25.99. This works out to be $0.23 per dose. Not sure how long the deal will last for though.

That's a saving of $0.20 per dose! Dollar-wise, it's not much of a wallet breaker, but percentage-wise, I thought it was a smooth deal :)

I bought 4 for myself for the times when I'm too lazy to eat any high-fibre foods and have trouble in the toilet.

    Just money down the toilet.

  • Have a couple of boxes but they were free samples and they look exactly like the ones in the picture. Hmm

    • these are just samples that should be given free. the pharmacy are just trying to make a buck out of them!

      • I would never have paid the full retail price, but thought for $0.50, it couldn't be too bad. However, I agree with you 100% that they should be free!

Odd that people seem to get the joke in the 1st post but not this one, unless they can't see past the literal meaning and are just +'ing that.

    • That was a crappy joke!

Charging for free samples? Doesn't that just give you the $hit$…

  • They were only free samples if you provided the pharmacist with a voucher from Metamucil that was part of a online campaign last year called Metamucil Two Week Challenge. If you didn't have the coupon pharmacies were charging $2 a packet. Must be leftovers from the completed campaign. Good price, handy for travel if you are regular users.

  • I thought they stopped giving them away as sample because they were getting abused. Going into multiple pharmacies with the same sms and getting an unlimited supply, lol. But I don't think many people would waste there time doing that, too much fuel usage, bad for the environment.

Plus when I got my sample they put it through the register and entered a code to make it $0.00. I think, it was way to long ago.
