Cheap domestic postage options

After finding it funny that I can order something from China and get it shipped for next to nothing yet the cheapest I can send a 1.5kg item domestic is currently $10.75.

What have people found to be the cheapest?

I currently use a 3kg click and send package for a total of $10.75 a parcel (including the satchel) for items less than 3kgs.

If I'm sending something larger I found e-go couriers to work out better.

What tricks do people use?

    Yeah, the best trick is if the company you work for has a chinese office, use internal mail to send the item there (free), then ask your mate in that office to mail it to the address in Australia.

    I had to send a big package and was contemplating between e-go and realtime express (https://www.realtimeexpress.com.au/).

    The prices seemed similar but eventually went with realtime since they have $250 worth of transit insurance included at no extra charge.
