Amazon has a really good sale on this Air Purifier. I ended up buying a few of them and can confirm they are a great unit. Seems to be an ATL.

Tried price matching with JB Hifi who refused as said it was not considered "live pricing". Cheapest I could find anywhere else was $229.

Some poor reviews seem to be from the previous model which did not have app functionality as the actual unit itself seems to be highly rated by most users. Can confirm this updated model has full app & Alexa functionality.

Considering the 1000i was $199 and 2000i was $249 recently this isn’t really a great deal.

The 1000i and 2000i are discontinued models with significantly more expensive filters which you'd imagine would likely be harder to get over time. The 900 series is a newer model.

The only real advantage the 1000i seems to have over the 900 series is 13m² more room coverage advertised (78m² vs 65m²). Personally for me I'd rather buy the newer non discontinued model for cheaper, but YMMV if you need that slightly larger coverage.

  • So many options, hard to compare, what's the difference between the pure protect series and the i series, ie pure protect mini 900 vs 800i/1000i, apart from the room sizes/cleaning rate (as the pure protect also has the larger models)

I think main difference is the room sizes. The older version of the 900 didn't have app support, but that's no longer an issue, so I don't think there's a lot separating the models other than confusing marketing.

From everything I've read, the 900 is a newer model than some others like the 1000i and the filters easier/cheaper to get (They seem to be about half the price on the 900 as the 1000i) but YMMV.

  • Showing $229 for me

    • I'm asthmatic. Things like this are the difference between feeling like I have someone sitting on my chest some nights.

You'd be amazed every few months when you clean the filters how much dust is in there.

ongoing asthma sucks. Hope you found what things triggers it like I did.
        Nah nothing amazes me.

Carpets…. Used to use the VAX wet and dry monthly in summer - oh man the grey / black water it pulled out. And the dog hair, people hair, skin cells turn grey, dirt, bugs and garden stuff.

Evermore no carpets now. But sweep regularly, got a robot vac 2 years ago and no real need to use ventolin anymore. Err if you need symbicort or more potent puffers and you are not a long term smoker. It typically environmental. You can use a LED CREE torch to spot air borne particles and you know you need to sweep and filter. Get rid of all synthetic clothing, bedding, etc, it breaks down into fine plastic bits. NOT GOOD.

Health example today. fat **** feral pigeons started nesting under the PV panels driving us nuts, brrrrrrrrrrrrooom brood noises 6-7am start. Earlier than ever due to the possums pushed in the barriers. Soon as I got close to their poo, feathers, sticks, yup a trigger on the chest/nose, etc etc,. But if I didn't clean it out, and block them, they would daily defecate multiple times, loose feathers, mites /lice and build a larger nest. Which was smelt / felt years ago when they first nested. Sick of going to ED for over looking the obvious which can be fixed if you look hard enough. But we are only human.

        • Asthma attacks aren't even the half of it, I've got a wonderful condition called menieres disease that's basically slowly killing my hearing and balance with the added bonus of unbelievable tinnitus. Doctors have no idea what causes it but allergies is one suggestion, so I'm giving everything a go at the moment & throwing the kitchen sink at it which includes sticking these purifiers in most of the rooms of my house.

Anyway, enough about my problems, I know many have worse things, but when you suffer any of these conditions that may be allergy related you tend to be willing to give anything a go & I do know these have helped with the asthma stuff in the past.

@Alleviate: Oh no menieres diesease… that sucks too. errr have you ever repeatedly used earbud PPE for work, earbuds for listening? That is a clue

Let me think, see its been a while. The thick book of records has some clues.
Also those damn ear bud cotton cleaners. **** them. Your body needs earwax. That is a clue.
Boiling water in a bowl, thick cotton towel over your head, do not come out until you look like a crazy hair red faced person.
Ocean water, sea water, you need it. Swim in it, stay near it. Take some home to make nasal spray and ear treatments and sinus treatment like boiling some and putting it in a bowl to sauna you head.
Not all beaches are equal, there is one beach that I know gives clarity from tinnitus, due to volcanic pumice stone, higher mineral content.
But what if I collected that sea water and put it with clove tincture or another potent herb that helps with ear problems.
There is a big book of herbs, how to extract via various methods like tincture, drying and other preparations to help heal conditions, diseases they have been known to treat and some heal / cure.

Bro, you were looking for chicken pellets on your last post. Who tf needs that?

      • -3

Not who, the hens. But yeah if one is starving… mmm pellets. If this rain stops, might get hens again.
Throw the cane toads at them and they turn into lunatics. :)

  • If good guys have this model u can try price matching online too. Jb didn’t do it last time but gg would on a portable heater

    • I think it depends on the rep, I have JB Gift Cards and tried price matching a Shark Carpet Spot Cleaner with Costco with JB Online on Thursday & the rep said they don't price match Costco & said best he could do was $1.50 off.

Phoned the closest JB store with stock directly afterwards & mentioned costco & they price matched it saying they are happy to price match costco.
