  Ok guys - I've had this dog lead for about 5.5 years. It's our daily dog walking lead for our border collie that's about 17kgs (smaller female).

  She can pull a bit and this has kept up just fine the whole time.

  Do I rate this product? Absolutely (unless they've changed and cheapened the parts or whatever). The round cord also makes it much easier for the lead to retract again.

    I have 3 of the Flexi retractables, two flat cable and one round corded, some for dogs as small as 2kg and others rated for 60kg. I also have had numerous cheaper alternatives like the Kmart one (given as gifts or donated).

    From personal experience, the Flexis have a heavier but delayed feel to their retracting system that seem to help allow the cord to always have a good pull back into the casing but prevents the lead from keeping a constant tension which reduces the dog's reactivity to the leash (there's a slight weighted delay when you pull the cable out before it comes back, kinda like the spool has momentum when spinning).

    The hold button is also much smoother to use (holding, locking and unlocking) without ever slipping when the dogs unexpectedly tug.

    Overall quality of the Flexis feel amazing when compared to the cheaper alternatives. I haven't ran into any quality issues with my Flexis (We have 5 dogs and help others walk/train theirs) but have had some alternatives jam when retracting, crack when handled roughly in our tool box or breaks completely when trying to lock.
