  Decided this was a good time to check on the timeline of the sequel.

  • 20 years since the first game was released
  • 18 years since the sequel was first in pre-production and the first trailer was released
  • 8 years since a trailer was premiered at E3
  • 7 years since the second E3 showing including developers demoing live gameplay
  • 5 years since Michel Ancel left Ubisoft (following rumours his management style was unorganised and abusive) saying the game was left in "capable hands"
  • 4 years since Ubisoft said in financial reports that the game was "progressing well"
  • 3 years since Bloomberg reported that the team working on the game considered it to still be in pre-production
  • 2 years since the new game lead Emile Morel died (at age 40)
  • 1 year since Ubisoft claimed the game was still in development

  We're well beyond Duke Nukem Forever in terms of delays here. Given the state of Ubisoft, I'm not sure we're ever going to see the sequel (and if we do, I have zero confidence it will be any good).

    I'm not giving them any money. They got rid of my account because I didn't sign in for a year. I lost whatever I bought and I couldn't get it back.

    I only bought one game, but still.

    I told them I was very unhappy and that even EA had better policies than them.

  Performance isn't great on Switch - but there are performance improvements on Switch 2.
  still capped at 30fps on handheld though.
