What happens if I cancel my service before the end of my device repayment period?

If you cancel your service early, you need to pay out the remaining balance of your Mobile Payment Plan at the undiscounted RRP as you’re only eligible for receiving the device discount if you stay connected with us on a selected plan for the full device repayment period.

The remaining balance is calculated by taking the undiscounted RRP divided by your device repayment period (for example 12, 24 or 36 months) and multiplied by your remaining months.

Showing as $1237 for me with no option to add a monthly plan. You got a link?

      • In store only, I bought one on weekend.

        • Cheers ;-)

        • Have you got a receipt or any more info? What network for the 4 months free?

          • @samba: Sign up for the 24-month Optus $69 plan and get a 128GB iPhone 16 for free. Then cancel the plan in the fourth month.

@jimojr: any reason you need to wait 4 months and not cancel immediately?

Not a deal, you need to stay and get the discount, otherwise you need to pay the original RRP.

This makes this a really bad deal

    • There are no early exit fees on this plan, if you chose to cancel, 100% of any remaining phone instalments will be applied to your next bill.

      • Yes there's no exit fees, but you don't get the device at the discounted rate, ie $400 off.

        • Whether that's true or not, Harvey Norman has a better deal.

No way especially since we're so close to announcement

I’m hoping for nice coloured iPhone 17 pro max.
      Orange would nice

  • That’s a saving of $33.34 per month when you stay connected over 12 months. RRP $1399. T&C apply.

AKA you need to pay out the phone AND anything they were going to contribute (33.34/mo over 12mo)

Students can get a plan for $39/mo, totals $1466.88 for phone and 12 month plan then, actually not too bad.

Good deal if you are getting good Vodafone coverage. Although, would probably wait for the Pros to drop on Telstra day.

    WA wide:
$14 off on plans (new connections)

    ie. Monthly
    Small $39: 60GB
    Medium $49: 200GB & IDD
    Large $59: 400GB & IDD

Plan discount stays for "length of device repayment term" (12/24/36 months interest free)

    Offer ends 31st July

This together with the device discount, makes a decent deal.
