Sony XM6 on Mydeal for $605. I personally wouldn't buy off these guys, so I just got GoodGuys to pricematch to $605 (including the coupon code!)
I used to own both (I sold the XM4). The XM6 offers slightly better sound quality and noticeably better noise-cancelling compared to the XM4. However, the XM4 is more comfortable, as the XM6 feels tighter due to its stronger clamping force.
I'd wait for the black friday sales.
What amazed me was the noise cancelling. I was walking with the XM6 when an ambulance came by with its siren on, but the XM6 instantly blocked out the noise.
I owned the XM5 before, and I’ve noticed that the XM6 is much better in terms of sound quality and NC.
The xm4s were a downgrade from the 3s, IMHO. 6 is by all reports quite a leap on the cancelling

XM5 were better than both, the XM4 were terrible for calls, the mics weren't very good and people couldn't hear probably.

They're getting more expensive, that's the game.
It's also the most premium mainstream option outside Apple, if you want cheaper get xm5, xm4 or another brand (is the rhetoric).
I'd grab these at 400, not more. Xm5 were good but it's still just BT.
i think sony are taking the piss - they know the XM series is well received so they keep raising the price each time there's an update but really the competition is just better as the price goes up
I got this for $335 at Goodguys after combining, price beat,ultimate gift card from Supermarket, store credit bonus (4 of those) and claiming gst refund. Goodguys is simply the best in price beat policy, especially their online chat team.

Yeah I got the sm5 from TGG in 2022 for $405. Just ring the numebr to get the best price (as they say). Helps to mention commerical.
I don't think you'd actually get them anywhere near that ever.
It's a shame that they went to this style imo, the xm4s are much more comfortable for my massive head.
Anyone know if the xm5/6 are better build quality?
I recently upgraded from xb900n which got really tattooed after 5 years of constant use (and in the last year actual rat damage), and the headband is not easily replaceable as the entire electrical assembly is soldered.
Xm4 I believe has connectors to remove one of both ear pieces which would allow headband replacement, but the hinges are still plastic and prone to failure.
XM6 Is much better build quality than the XM5.
XM4 wins in overall design, NFC pairing, and some settings that allow for tweaking the noise cancelling features IIRC. People have mentioned in the past that as of XM5, some features were loss when Sony transitioned from XM4 to XM6.
IMO, if there's no significant improvement to XM6 AND there's issues with build quality and loss of function, I'd just keep the XM4 or purchase another XM4.
There's a reason why the XM4 is still in production. It's likely due to poor adoption and issues associated with the XM5, and the exorbitant price of the XM6

Still about $100 too much.
Got the XM5 for $350-400 sold now but hard to say if xm6 is worth the extra. No doubt they are a bit better again (as was the XM5) bit wl still a lot to pay for another 15% improvement.

What model you got? The mic has been improved in the XM5 onwards.
Took this to Officeworks for price match +5 % off and it was just over $574! Black only though.
Are these much of an upgrade over the MX4's? Wouldn't HATE another pair, but only if it's a significant upgrade.
