Best 1.8m Electric Sit-Stand Desk (Dual Motor, Hardwood Top, < $2K, Clean Cable Mgmt) ?

Hi guys,

Looking for recommendations on a quality electric sit-stand desk around 1.8m width, ideally with:

  • Dual motors for smoother/stronger lift
  • Hardwood or hardwood-look top (solid or veneer ok — open to aesthetics like walnut, oak, etc.)
  • Good cable management — would love an integrated or aftermarket solution that allows just one cable out, with all others (monitor, laptop, charger, etc.) neatly tucked away
  • Under $2,000 total delivered (Sydney-based if that helps)

Already looked at Desky, UpDown, Omnidesk, Artiss, etc. but not sure which ones really offer the best value and cleanest cable setup out of the box (or with minimal add-ons).

If you own one and can share real-world experience (especially for setups with dual monitors / MacBook / docks), would appreciate that too.

My current setup includes a dual monitor set up (North Bayou dual monitor arm - will I need to purchase proprietary/bespoke dual monitor arms if I look at purchasing one of the above desks?) with 2 x 27" monitors, and to the side is a angled laptop stand with my laptop (docked/lid closed) and also rock my 16" macbook pro on the table too (hence after the 1.8m width set up) and a few other peripherals.

Thanks in advance!

as ozb member i bought (during covid) frame only from ebay for $180-ish then used my own old desk top (big, thick and solid wood) - (or people have been suggesting get one from bunning or IKEA fro the top)
dual motors and i have more stuffs than your setup. dual monitor plus another arm for laptop, two other laptops on the desk, dock, portable monitor, mobile charger, headphones, clock, speaker, box of tissue, small humidifier, small fan…..
for cable mgt you need to buy separate some kind of rack and screw it under. aliexpress, ikea, temu, maybe officeworks, endless options really.

still fine until now. no way im going to pay for those big brands

    • I'd opt for this route if I had more time. At this stage, looking to purchase a pre-made (pre-fab) desk that I can set up in under an hour, no fuss. Happy to pay a bit more of a premium for the convenience.

      • Ok not a old/refurbished desk top then, but you can get a new desk top from anywhere - you are paying hundreds more to save on the effort of drilling 6 pilot holes.

        • What do you think this is? A bargain site or something?

    I have a Desky desk - 1.8m wide.

    • Cool, how long ago was it purchased? is it hardwood desk-top? any issues with the motors, general thoughts/feedback

        i dont stand enough
        otherwise awesome

  • Quite happy with my Rubberwood desky bought end of 2023

A 2cm x 2mm bit of varnish stripped off a few months in and they offered to replace the entire tabletop. I declined though, as it was a bit of hassle.
