Any cat food deals coming up?

This product is questionable based on its own description. Titled "freeze dried" yet described as air dried it's already facetious.
Air dried or even dehydrated beef are different yet have lower costs associated with processing. With that in mind, even supermarket beef (e.g. Coles topside roast ($16/kg) can be sliced, marinated and dehydrated into human consumption beef jerky for under the equivalent of $42/kg of processed jerky.
Talk about pets eating better than owners…

Looks like they copied the description for the wrong product, it's freeze dried.

You could not make an equivalent product at home without spending thousands on equipment, but can get pretty close with a food dehydrator, just less nutritious and not as good for dogs with bad or missing teeth.

It's a convenience product, people who can be bothered processing raw meat would just feed their dog the raw meat.

    • Thanks for pointing out the mistake. We just copied the wrong description before and now it's fixed.

  • So this works out to be $76 a kg if my crappy math is correct. Wow, crazy for dog food.

Worth it for my dog, who has significant health issues and can't eat normal dog food. Too many specialist trips and a low quality of life until we started this food on a vet's recommendation … I really like this stuff!
Some people don't have the time to make our own homemade healthy dog food, though I know it's not for everyone. I can't have kids, so this is my "splurge" on MY "kid" lol :)

  • Roughly how much do you use for each meal as a topper? I have a 15kg dog. Had a quick look but couldn't find any info.
