"here's one that's 3k, but if you know where to look there's good deals"
Laptop, lightweight & Gaming - pick any two.
For lightweight portable gaming, get Android/IOS.
Maybe close-ish is a 2nd hand Surface Studio with nvidia GPU? 1.8kg
1.5 kg or less is a stretch simply because of the chassis volumetric space requirements for the heatsink & heat dissipation, cooling, and ultimately component spacing.
HOWEVER, you can go for Asus Zephyrus with xx70 cards or one of the Asus TUF models. There's also Razer.
Don't expect latest gen. But can indeed run AAA games maybe at low-medium smoothly.
All within $2000.
Do you have a link?
Not right now for the Zephyrus, TUF, Razer as deals aren't on.
Like I said the 1.5kg is a stretch. If you remove that restriction, then any xx70 laptops would do. Preferably RTX 4070 minimum. Look for the sub-$2000 ones. For reference, my HP Omen is RTX 4090 was for $2.5k. Also note, not all good deals are posted on OzB.
Rog Zephryus are the only one that come close to the weight but dont see any under $2k. Razer way too expensive.
@Hellfire: I tend to agree. But Zephyrus has dropped to maybe $2~2.5k during clearance. The TUF A14 is even an easier sale. Razer maybe ~$2.4k. But really, it's during clearance.
If my suggestion was xx60 it'd be even easier, but I stick to a minimum of xx70 on all my recommendations.
You're not going to get smooth AAA gaming from a 1.5kg laptop - at least, not without dialing down the resolution and detail quite a bit.
Gaming laptops use a lot of energy and make a lot of heat, so they require big heatsinks and larger batteries. These add both weight and cost.
@marshmall0w2 your time to shine, buddy.
