but the question is does it tell time?

  • What was the partial red colour for?

    • +4

so it can be called pepsi bezel hehe

      • +3

No it's the 15 minute designation, most dive watches have it (traditionally for the safety stop and iso certification). Look it up for a better explanation.

All the nicknames are a bit dumb but Pepsi is half red half blue.

        • But's it's a count up bezel, tank is still full the first 15 minutes.

The red zone would make more sense if the numbers are counting down clockwise, if it's meant to be a safety feature.

          (neg wasn't from me)

          • +1

@browser: Yeah you turn the bezel so the minute hand is on 12 o'clock (zero) then it counts the minutes from then - handy to track how long from a given point (and can be more than 15 min up to 60).

            Nah all good

You'll get mixed answers like on this Watchuseek thread.

  • So far I manage to hold my impulse buying when I saw Pepsi wristwach. But I don't know until when I could hold it….

    • +2

when Coca Cola enters the market ?

    • +2

It's not healthy to hold for a long time. Just don't forget to go through Topcashback for 11% cashback :)

      • +1

If he holds out too long he might end up getting a fully blue watch.

  • Looking at 3 camels, this retailed at $1300+?? That's a steep fall, is it because a new model is going to be out soon and/or is such price drops normal for watches (I'm a WatchNoob).

    • +4

Most recommended retail watch prices are complete BS I'm looking at you Seiko and Citizen

Praying on people that walk into their local Goldmark jewellery shop at Westfield's that don't know any better

  • +1

Still waiting for sub $200 orient bambino in green gold 😭

    • I am wondering how many watches in your collection at the moment? I am sitting at 9 currently - in the culling process and now stuck with 3 watches that are hard to move lol.

      • +5

13 - but in terms of active rotation:

        apple watch 7
        timex expedition
        ssc813p
        skmei 1628
        sd1970
pd speedy and pd mission to alaska
        casio gold databank
        alttime - type A

everything else is either out of battery or has sentimental attachment so i dont want to take them out of storage

      • What are the three hard to move ones?

        • Hamilton Ventura, Citizen Promaster Mustard (bracelet) & Ixdao Ipose.

    • Man you're a tough nut… currently $235.14 on Amazon JP… That's pretty close.

      • +1

been sub $190 as recent as Feb of 2024

It’s ok I’m in no rush

        • +1

          No FOMO, YOLO here hehe.

The 38mm never seems to get reduced very often, sub $250 would be nice. Never even wear me Irish coffee cocktail time as it is.

        • That'd make sense if inflation and exchange rates hadn't happened… But hey, like you said, 13 others to choose from so zero rush.

          • @nitens: I like this one, they are only getting more expensive!

            Orient Bambino RA-AC0M 38mm

            • @G-rig: Yeah… Aliexpress watches are going to kill brands like Orient I reckon.

This Grand Seiko clone has my eye right now…

              https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008164514826.html

              • @nitens: Just another option mate, some people like Brand heritage, resale is something else to consider. I really like my teal Oient Kamasu for $305.

They have always been around, the Chinese copycats are pretty good bang for buck. Wouldn't pay the asking price for that, needs to be a big yearly sale, cashbacks etc. Cronos is one of the better AliExpress brands.

                • @G-rig: Yeah totally waiting for a sale. Reckon there's more chance of the Cronos going sub 200 than the Bambino.

                  • @nitens: Most likely, a lot of bambinos used to be around $200, just not that 38mm.

I've already got one dress watch I never wear (presage irish coffee was $389 from starbuy).

  • Gib kamasu. Been eyeing one for the longest time.

  • Shopback has currently 10% off watches, purchased this off the last cb sale and really liked this model (Orient Mako 3)
