Great price - but I'm tempted by the Osmo 360….
and DJI release a 8K 360 cam as well
That is what digitalane talking about
just waiting for the Good Guys to list it, got $100 store cash and nothing else to spend it on
lol, soon as the DJI 360 came out they had to drop their price. From a lot of review videos the DJI is better except for interchange lenses
Came to the same conclusion, but even though no interchangeable lenses, when sending off for repair by DJI it comes out cheaper then the replacement lenses of the Insta360.
while true, wont help someone on a mountain or riding in middle of nowhere. definitely a case for easily swappable lens'
Yeah, this was my thought too. I think it was a missed opportunity for DJI to have the Osmo360 with replaceable lens (although, it's quite possible they omitted this, so that they can include it in v2 in the future and tempt people to upgrade).
I don't exactly know the process of how lens repair process will work with DJI (whether it's as easy as dropping it into a store, or has it happen via post etc), or even pricing, but surely the overall process will be more cumbersome than say having spare Insta360 v5 lens lying around or on a trip etc. It would be cool if it was similar to Apple stores, where they could fix on the spot.
@eltito: You need to buy an additional DJI Care subscription. It allows two replacements per year. Replacement fees vary depending on the device. My action 4 only cost $29. Drones are a lot more expensive. They will send a replacement upon receiving the damaged product. Overall experience on Reddit is positive. However, you are most certainly right about the fact that it is no use if an accident happens, and it might take days to sort out once you get back home
Does it really though? Have DJI released a price for the lens service in Australia?
The X5 lenses are pretty cheap on Aliexpress and very easy to do yourself: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009476706380.html
I don't think DJI lens replacements are going to come in at around ~35AUD here in Australia.I would think close to double that, but I can't find the cost for Osmo 360 lens replacement service here yet.
The way these cameras get used makes them much more susceptible to lens scratches than other action cameras. Seems like even those who baby their 360 cameras are likely to get scratches at some point which is why insta360 ended up making easy lens replacements a priority. I would think DJI would do that with their 2nd version of the Osmo 360.
I read $69 for two years
@UberIsCool: Not bad at all, but I really think they need to release pricing on just the lens replacements rather than the DJI care refresh insurance. Pricing should include all associated costs also, including the service fee and shipping.
You think? I looked at a few YouTube clips just now and most say x5 better even though specs are slightly worse. Also the x5 software is apparently miles ahead of the DJI
Opinions differing here, reddit forums say how bad the Insta software is. All I care about is the dynamic range and the videos show more detail in DJI log
If you have a Windows PC then the only way to reframe footage and export without significant cropping is to use Insta360 studio.

Thanks, just the deal I was looking for. Pulled the trigger!
I’ve decided on the Osmo. Even with the discount this is still cheaper than the base Osmo. I’ve gone for the adventure bundle. Hope I chose right!
Let’s hope the X5 price drops heaps with the DJI entry
The real magic from Insta is the software…. Until you have used it and understand how advanced it is, the physical specs of the DJI camera are a very small part of the story..
Great price. Got the x4 late last year for around 750. Used it for inspecting equipment condition especially hard to get to, teeny tiny spaces. Combo with a 3m pole to inspect chocked gutters - saves getting the ladder and fall risk. Dont use into moving conveyor.
Holy Price, Batman
