  • Chances of catching fire on a Virgin Australia flight?

    • No reports of any fires from customers—safety profile seems very good, AFAIK.

  • -1

There is little chance they would allow you to bring it onboard, given the recent events..

    • Lithium battery in a power bank that was apparently left on.

      https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/jul/22/fire-…

    • Not really. As most airlines have a 160wh limit on lithium batteries.
From some research, this device should be using 18.25V and 2.6ah, which results in 47.45wh which is way below the limit.

However if this isn't marked on the device's manufacturer's labels then they might refuse it onboard…..

  • What is the weight limit for the rider? Asking for a friend.

    • 110kg

I'll check into that and get back to you!

      Maximum of 35kgs.

Thats all of ozbargain gone. Good luck

        I was close 😅

  • Very niche market, this caters to families that are thinking flying with a toddler is not stressful enough so we want to chase them in the airports on a motorised transport travelling at 10km/h as well.

    • You can change the speeds between 4, 6.5, or 9.6 km/h. On the lowest speed, they won't get far :)

  • Handy for the streets of Bangkok.

I had scooter luggage for our kids when they were little, but we were forced to check them in at Perth International Airport. I had no problems overseas, though.

  • re - "Lightweight & Portable: Perfectly sized for travel, easy to carry or roll through airports"

good luck getting this on as cabin baggage for a flight

    Virgin allows - Maximum dimensions:
 56cm x 36cm x 23cm and 7kg Weight

this is 56cm x 47cm x 31 cm and weighs 10lb (4.5 kgs) so you can only add 2.5 kgs to it.

  • The non powered ones are good for toddlers & kids under 6. As long as you're a responsible parent.

    • You'd hope most parents are responsible :)

  • Is this the toddler version of a moped?

    • As close as you can get! Or their version of an elderly person with a golf cart.

  • Looks like a Powermac G3, no !?

  • As a non-parent, I thought they were pretty cool. Now as a parent of a 1yo, I can't imagine how much more stress this would add making sure the kid doesn't just ride off to other end of the terminal
