I was looking for a colour printer for the kids that wouldn't break the bank (purchase or running costs) with:
Ink tanks and not cartridge
Auto duplex
Apple airprint
This fitted the bill. Looking at 3 Camels it's the all time lowest price.

I got one recently and when printing higher gsm papers like over 180gsm, the roller would leave marks on the paper. This is especially obvious on glossy papers.
That's terrible can you return it.
Its a common issue looking at forums
I didnt return cuz i rarely print high gsm and the marks dont bother me too much but just a warning for those that do… especially for presentation etc
Still great colour printer printing normal 80gsm papers…
Your other comment seems to indicate you've done your research, but just in case; have you changed the paper type/thickness to match the thicker stock?
No automatic document feeder
Most people don't need one.
Got this for 369 on Monday for my kid who started homeschooling. Good printer so far

As an infrequent printer, I switched to laser as these would clog if not frequently printing
Curiously, do you turn it off at the wall? I noticed (I have three) that if I turn it off at the wall that's when I can run into issues. I cannot confirm for sure but it seems something must happen (maybe its heats the head up or something) every so often when provided with power.
The only time I have ever had a problem was when a unit was unplugged for two months. Whenever they are plugged in, now issues even after 4-5 months of non-use.
Side note, this has always worked for me but is totally anecdotal. If you want a more bullet proof solution there are ways to print 'test pages' every week to ensure you don't get any of the clogs via the email printing functionality iirc.
Yes we only powered it on when using.
You should leave it power on. The printer do self cleaning itself on periods to avoid that clogging. But that process also wastes the ink. I have a similar printer by Brother. I will not buy it again. Despite leaving it in when the cartridges finished, they clogged the printer and new cartridges were not working so I had to clean it manually. The new cartridges half wasted in the cleaning process.
I just set a monthly reminder to print some random stuff per month. The ink is so cheap anyway, just print some photos from phone as poster. When set to high quality it looks better than laser
Buy a laser; these are not great.
I regret buying one.
yes buy laser if you dont print color often but color printing on these are superior to laser colour prints.
any suggestions for a colour laser printer?
There was a deal recently for a Brother DCP-L3520CDW at $360. Print quality is okay for color document, pictures aren't great, for sure isn't as good as my old $150 inkjet. I don't color print frequently; the inkjet clogged and died after a couple of months.
I have had one for over 12 months very light use say 10 pages a week. I wouldn't buy it again
Price matching GGs. See if there's any thing else you can stack on at GGs and comment.
