      For same price?

That link also has a signup to get a pixel 10 discount code:

Plus, Google Store subscribers who are signed up by 19 August, 5PM AEST will get an exclusive offer to use with Pixel 10 series phones.1 The offer will be sent on the day that the phones are available for pre-order.

  • Is it likely the XL will go on offer again at the same price as the JB Hifi & Officeworks deals? I was having second thoughts on the size of the phone and now regret not just getting it.

Tensor G4 lags behind Snapdragon 8 and Exynos by large margin

    • Tensor G5 in Pixel 10 will be interesting. I would expect it to be between SD8 and Mediatek, then Exynos. Good reason to wait for 10.

Unless you're playing heavy games or doing video editing, you'd probably not notice.

      • Yea but you can buy the S24 Ultra $1,499 from JB it's hard to see why I'd want Pixel Pro XL

      • You'll notice the battery life being shorter than phones with other SOC.

For people who do not play high end games the G4 is still
a very capable processor. On daily tasks it is as good and IMHO the camera is way better.
The UI is much cleaner and more user friendly.
I had Samsungs before now with the Pixel I find it much better.
Pixel is already on Android 16 and my samsung ONLY got Android 15 a few months ago when Pixel
had released it this time last year.

If you take videos though, be prepared for a massive downgrade. I take a few videos, and am now using my work iPhone over my pixel for photos/videos. Pixel can take some incredible photos, far better than any phone I've used, but also much of the time the photos don't look great at all, sometimes overly processed.

      • +2

Most phones over the last couple of years have caught up to pixels photo capabilities, but pixel still hasn't caught up to iPhones in video quality even after 9 iterations.

If this is the phone you really want, best off holding out a week or 2. Definitely will be cheaper than this again.

    • Yeah thats my thought, in the past they basically half the price when the next model arrives.

  • Pixel 7 user. Trying to work out which phone to get and when. Seems Pixels are getting more and more buggy (e.g. wifi calling issues) although their cameras seem amazing. Is the JB plan and cancel the best way?

So, when will be the cheapest time to get a p pro 9? Or 10? Or like a dip in the price. What launch specials do Google usually do and should I just scrap everything and get an S25 Ultra?

Have had no issues with P7P or P9PF regarding WiFi calling - perhaps somewhat carrier issue? Phones have been a pleasure to use, tbh.

Pixel 9 fixes a lot of the issues from earlier Pixel devices (though, never had much problem with P7P and P8 was meant to be pretty good). Pixel 10 will be a similar chip with a better GPU on TSMC fab. Should improve it further, even if not a massive performance jump. I'd expect a very modest performance bump and a slight increase in battery performance, at the very least.

  • So going by where Pixel 7 and 8 pro ended up, should I wait for these to drop into the $600 range?

  • If anyone got spare google discount code off student beans or unidays & could DM me please?
