Why do I think this is a deal? Hear me out.

The gaming laptops with NVidia 5000 series just launched, and as expected they have very high launch price.

Even the lower tier RTX 5050 laptops everywhere is above $2000, for eg the Lenovo Legion 5050 is currently listed at $2199 and Dell themselves lists the RTX 5050 variant of this laptop at $2399!.

The $RTX5060 laptop at $1998.7 right now might be listing mistake, it's probably supposed to be the price for an RTX5050 variant of this laptop.

For comparison, the Lenovo Legion 5i RTX5060 is currently listed at $2599.

If you place an order now, you can get the RTX5060 variant for $1998.7 and I think it's a deal if you want a new 50 series laptop now. It's probably going to take many months until we get deals for RTX5060 laptops at this price.

Also note that Shopback has a 2% cashback for Dell Alienware right now, but usually goes upto 6-8% cashback for Dell.

  • It’s half decent. But the CPU and RAM have a lot to be desired though.

  • Processor is basically refreshed i7-13620H(6p+4e raptor lake). 2-gen behind current arrow lake.

Power supply for these nVidia laptops are HUGE ~ reminds me of the Osborne computer days of calling that monstrosity a portable computer

This one is fine, it's only 180W, I weighed it with the cable at 690g

Agree with your logic. Decent deal.

Added it to our site earlier today for $260 less than this.

I bought one a few weeks ago, will have a review next week, main thing to be aware of is the 120Hz screen is mad slow, 27ms response time, feels slow even in Windows. But yes, good price for the performance.

    • @JarrodsTech from the review that I read, the tgp is only 85w.. it's quite underwhelming, don't you think? Last year's lenovo legion rtx 4060 tgp is 140w if i am not mistaken..

Its 80W yeah, I haven't tested a 100W one yet, the difference likely isn't that big, but yeah it's not full powered.

4060 is actually more like 100W in practice due to voltage limits, the 140W is kind of a lie.

        • On a side note, I regret not buying that Acer Predator Helios you posted a while ago. Everytime you pop up, it reminds me of missing out a solid deal! T.T

        • I went to go find a video with graphs that I saw recently to back you up, and it was your video lol

Low end 100 series laptop gpus practically cap at 100w l, anything above has high diminishing returns. It was up to 3000 series gpus that actually did something with the extra wattage

Hi Jarrod, any recommendations for this year for a 14" gaming laptop? There hasn't been one listed on your website in a while and the zephyrus g14 is too expensive

    • We haven't had any to test this year yet, still waiting on ASUS to lend us a G14, I think Razer Blade 14 is coming soon (but will also be expensive), and I think we're meant to get the Acer Triton 14 soon, that's a new one.

  • Does it have soldered RAM?

    • They are upgradeable. It’s written on the product page.

      • Thanks mate…

On the website it says "Play demanding games with up to 115W Total Performance Power", 115w total power output is so bad, just avoid it.

    • Since 4000 series these cards max out at 100w mate. Are you still living the power hungry 3000 series era?
Even 5070 is capped at low wattage in favour of 5080 and above.

And here you are complaining 115w is not enough for a 5060 lol

      • 115w for total power draw including graphics. 115w for cpu+gpu
