….cheap????
Has it been cheaper for local stock? I know Kogan was very slightly cheaper but I'd rather go without a console than give any money to Ruslan Kogan.
Was cheaper at sanity for a short time.
thanks going to buy 3 for my EK413 flight next week!
Hot tip for anyone who owns a switch 2 or is considering one, Hogwarts Legacy (Switch 2 editions) can be had for $15 as an 'upgrade' for 'owners' of the Switch 1 version. This includes physical 'owners' of the game.
Play the Switch 1 version long enough to be able to exit to th main menu and navigate to the eshop upgrade tab and you can figure it out from there.
If you do this, the Switch 1 version is no longer needed and you can sell, return, lend or whatever else you may want to do with it (if you used the physical version)
Or hire it from your local library like I did!
Or 'borrow it' (buy pre-owned and return) from EB Games like I did!
Do you just tell them the game didn't click with you? Do you need justification for the return?
Is it a pretty straightforward process?
@azngamer: EB has a 7-day return window for new games and 14-day window for pre-owned. I've only returned things maybe twice over the years (Hogwarts being the most recent) and wasn't even asked a single question. Just a straightforward refund.
Will you be able to redownload the switch 2 version again if you delete it?
I'd say so. Owning the switch 1 version activates a "discount key" on your account for purchase of the digital edition of the Switch 2 version. So you're just purchasing the Switch 2 Version for $15
Perth (central) hopeful here if anyone can assist
Thanks for the tip! Do you know if this works for any other games?
I don't think so. Each switch 1 to switch 2 upgrade works a little differently so far.
Dragon Quest III hd remaster was a non-optional update.
No Mans Sky requires downloading the "upgrade pack" from the eshop (which is free in this case, but still requires having the Switch 1 version if you have the physical)
Fantasy Life i is a paid upgrade, but works in the same way as NMS.
Hogwarts Legacy is a bit of an odd anomaly.
Oh and instead of a random $3 item, consider pairing with a MicroSD Express card. You will likely need one (and rather quickly) considering the sizes of games these days
i have 4 games already and no memory card needed
Same.
I transferred over from Switch 1 and my 256gb memory card is already full. Internal storage is about 1/3rd full as well. Only transferred over about a third of my games, too.
As examples, Fortnite on Switch 2 is 40gb. Rocket League is about 22gb. Hogwarts Legacy (if using the above "trick" takes another 22gb.
If you wanted to look into the Switch 2 upgrade for No Mans Sky, that's 20gb. Dragon Quest 3 HD Remaster just got a Switch 2 exclusive 'update' that chews up 8gb even if you own the physical as well.
Wanting to get a variety of Switch 2 upgrades or free to play titles chews up space quickly. Game key cards don't help on that front either.
My approach has been to use internal storage for 1st party Ninty titles (generally smallest data files) and external storage for 3rd party titles (generally larger data files).
As much as i want to get a Switch there, the launch titles are piss average at best.
the donkey kong game is the only one tempting me to get a switch 2
Its great, one of the best I have played in ages.
It’s a great game and I had a lot of fun with it but I’d wait a hot minute cause yeah, selection is slim
*third party launch titles
$200 off, Mario kart that appears to have the CORRECT jump+waggle powerslide mechanic (ie. from n64 days), donkey Kong.. no complaints from me. By the time I finish these games and a few others there will be new stuff.
But, at retail or even $630.. not tempting.
The least they could have done is made the docks compatible (just with switch 2 requiring a 60w charger), that's a real pain in the butt to run both systems with limited HDMI ports and Nintendo not being the centre of the universe
As someone who never bought a PS5 or Series console and has never been a PC gamer, Cyberpunk alone has been a great experience.
Thanks OP. Just bought the glue.
How did you get EB to price match? Website shows $699.
31 sold and offer GONE
Good price, see Nintendo are increasing the prices of the switch
since when did you start living in the US?
No, we live in Australia where they put bigger increases in prices on things and we pay more for things. Lucky us
Damn that's cheap
