Help - Swann 1080 Wi-Fi CCTV Setup

Inlaws bought a house with a Swann 1080 outdoor wifi cam CCTV setup.

They had it running in AP mode, but wanted to view it remotely via the app.

So I had a quick look in the settings and noticed the old owners wifi settings were still in the NVR.

So changed the mode from AP to
Station. Changed the wifi settings to their wifi. Message come up saying to make sure the wifi password is correct, otherwise you will need to renter cameras via liveview mode.

Checked their wifi via my phone. SSID and Password worked. So clicked Apply.

NVR restarted… No cameras come up. All of them come up offline.

Tried to start from scratch. But the cams don't have an AP / pairing button. Just have a Power connector and wifi antenna.

So I'm lost?

They don't have any instructions. Looked on YouTube. None of them show how to pair.

Don't know why all cams were lost when simply adding wifi settings, nor how to at least get back into AP mode?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • For Swann cameras replace them as soon as possible
    Otherwise if you need them and then they fail ………… bad luck
    Swann is unreliable

    • My experience wasn't great.. it's basically a new system. Old owners gave them half of it still in the box.

    • Not from my experience with SWANN
      10 year old system - worked until power surge took out the power pack 2 weeks ago.
      Only replaced main unit power pack ($12.99 Amazon) - All good

      • Someone said there is a pairing button hidden on the chord? I couldn't find one. Squeezed along it in case it was hidden

        Also tried to add it manually via the app. But the camera type isn't in the options.

        Was a very similar looking outdoor camera. But the app won't accept the ID printed on the cameras.

        …I'm lost!

  • I find I can download only the Swann doorbell on my phone but the whole system won’t download. I am on 100/20 nbn and perhaps I need to get 100/40.

  • While you wait for tips, grab some identifying or serial numbers and contact Swann support, and, meantime, google for a user manual. Maybe start by looking a for a full reset procedure. Also I'd double check all hard wiring integrity before trouble shooting.

    • Cheers. I think I have it sorted.

      Looks like the reset button is on the end, in the middle of the power cables.
