The Samsung site doesn't sell the 5G version. The one that comes from Telstra is 5G.

In true Ozbargain fashion I already explored this. Yes, you can get the phone without a plan and yes, you then redeem the tablet from the Samsung website. Telstra staff told me you can't return the phone for change of mind. Not sure how true that is.

And according to the Samasung terms you can claim a tablet 5 times per samsung account for the promotion.

I wouldn't risk it. I got burnt buying S25 Ultra and a case from Samsung. Opened the case and didn't like it. The colours were different. Can't return opened , can't see the case in cardboard box. Fine, take the hit on $50 case.
Decided to return phone, unopened. They won't accept the return without the case because they gave me discount when I got the case with the phone. But won't accept the case since it's open. No policy or terms support that stance but they refused to take the phone back. Multiple calls and escalations but same crap.
lol, this reminds me of my Sony phone from many years ago. I got a weird freebie, a suitcase for a phone. The phone had inconsistent connection issues, so after a few months, I decided to trade it in , not return it. But they asked me to give the back that *** suitcase, without it, they didn't accept me to trade in. 😅 Luckily, I never even had a chance to open the suitcase.
buy another case then return that with the phone. Taking an extra $50 hit is better than keeping a phone you don’t want. Will likely lose more than $50 off selling separately anyway.
They made sure to run out the return window. Plus they need pics of serial numbers on the boxes. I even told them to charge me full price for the case and process the return. Noob question. I want to get the phone and sell the tab. But I need a telstra ID. How do I get one without being on an active plan with them? and Can I still get the phone on a 24 month plan without an active service?
I think you can just sign up on the website? They used to do that anyway.
One thing I spoke to the Chat about is their price match.
JB have $400 off. So if you have a Telstra account they'll price match (allegedly) once you get the phone by refunding the difference to your account.
