  • Does this still work on Win 11 PCs?

Yes - the remaster came out in 2021 and will run on any windows 64-bit system. Specs are pretty low too.

still my favourite Total War game, just got everything right. very tempted to get the remastered now

How does it compare to something like Age of Empires: Definitive Edition? is it an rts or turn based?

      • +2

AoE is RTS where TW are turn based games, although battles can be played real time (i personally normally simulate them as im more interested in the empire building and managing)

      • +3

Total War games have real time battles and a turn based campaign map where you build in cities and move armies around (like Civilization). It's the best of both worlds and kind of killed RTS games for me. IMO Rome 1 and Medieval 2 were the peak of the franchise.

Do it. It’s not a huge graphical leap, but there are a lot of quality of life improvements and the whole UI/UX is much improved where it counts.

    • Yeah same. Still play Rome 2 all the time. Feel like I would get more playtime from Rome 2 than this

  • I need someone to play this for me why I stand behind them yelling instructions like I am some general.

    • "spread out! No, bunch up! No not that close! Spread out again! Ahhh we are dead already!!!"
