  • What guarantee do you get with it?

    • Website says 1 year limited warranty.
Spoke to DELL CSR: Warranty is 1 year carry in service after remote diagnosis. Covers you part and labor. But it wont covers you accidental damage or normal tear and wear.

      • Then I guess that should be similar to regular warranty of their products. Maybe pay attention to what they list there such as: "No OS media included. Unit has minor scratches.", etc.

        • I assume "No OS media.." meaning pre-loaded OS in laptop but no CD/DVD of OS.

        • Really makes no difference, as long as you have the cd-key, you can download the DVD ISO from Microsoft.com, Piratebay etc and then install as normal.

        • No need for torrents, just DDL them from the official Microsoft servers

The Dell community website has links (safe, virus free website ) to ISO images.

        • surely they have a recovery partition on them?

press f9 or f10 to start it up

i dont think any machine i've bought for the last few years has ever had recovery media

not that it matters to me… i know what a slic is
