This came out of the New 52 (2011) DC reboot, I think it was the second story of the new Batman run, introduced some great new lore.

Absolutely kicking myself, this was out of stock a week ago, paid nearly double of eBay from UK, still waiting on it, hopefully someone here can get the deal I missed.

This DC Compact Edition series of books are smaller than the normal comic volumes, closer to a regular book, but still just large enough to be readable. Similar in format to manga. Additionally, they are very affordable compared to the DC/Marvel post pandemic pricing, at US$9.99 a book.

    In addition to being on discount, they are infrequently available, I paid A$26 last week for what was the cheapest available option.

  It was the first volume of batman comic in the new 52. It is my favourite Batman comic. This is a comic that needs to be read physically over digital.

  I'm personally not a fan of the smaller size though.

    My memory failing me, I thought the Joker face/dinner story was the first for new 52.

      That was in detective comics. New 52 was what got me into comics so I remember it well.

      2012 I think was the year. That is a while ago

      Edit: the dinner with Joker was volume three I think of Batman. The face removal of joker was detective comics.

  I love the series (Compact Comics). A great entry point into the world of DC comics. Very affordable.

  Marvel also have a slightly larger and more expensive series called "Marvel Premier Collection".

      Me too!! Very Keen. Just got the Kingdom Come one today, and Birthright on Preorder. As well as Batman Hush. Such a handy form factor. Was getting over my larger ones

        Batman Hush is an amazing read and I cannot think of a book with better artwork. Jim Lee is a WIZARD!
